SubInACL script seems to have done it (for at least the majority) thanks @cscc. I will have to manually re-assign the owner of the odd user where it hasn't worked, but that's fine. Thanks guys!

Best of it was, it was because of teacher requests that I did it. I'm usually pretty good with permissions, but a lapse in concentration was probably what caused it! So just use VEEAM to restore the entire 'pupils' folder? But it would be 2 days ago, as last night would be broken.

Essentially, staff were wanting to be able to see the students home drives, so I attempt to set the permissions last night (which worked) but resultantly wiped the permission for students to save in their own area. Is there a way I can regrant the permissions, quickly? I tried selecting the users, and repointing the home drive as \\server\share\%username% but it sees it as already existing. Think I’ve learned a pretty big lesson from this mistake…

Just checked (using this https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2121559 to determine) and the 2010 client I'm testing on now has the version that is SP2

I'm on Outlook 2013 where it works, not sure about SP2. Is there any easy way to check? Or do I just have to try installing it?

replcaed casserver1 with CPS-MSX (servername) and that's now returned the correct autodiscover path

It's never worked properly since I set it up, just got most staff on the Web App for now! It's Exchange 2013 No changes, aside from the bog standard Windows updates as and when they come!

Outlook main problem is that contacts aren't showing properly in distribution groups. Also, outlook won't autodiscover on current 2010 clients (unless I reinstall office). It doesn't autodiscover outside of the LAN, it also doesn't autodiscover on 2016. On top of that, it doesn't work on the LAN on mobiles?
