CC4 was set at a way too high cost I think they were to arrogant about it, think I was priced at 30/40k just for licences and this made people think vanilla plus I got a sales rep saying virtualising servers had little benefit! (a few years back) CC4 should have been set less and made money on annual licences and say schools had to buy new servers for CC4 to make up some costs

I just do it for worst case scenario for example I put a edited host file on my apps server, share it and then I do a 'replace' action at gpp at user configuration
-
on each client there is a HOSTS file at: C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\ in this file you can edit this file to redirect IANA — Example domains to anything IP you want like googles ip
-
a quick a dirty block is to change HOSTS files via gpp

irsprint84 replied to pete's topic in Thin Client and Virtual Machines
Xen server has cause 50% mental break downs for me! Switching master from slave crash Creating pools killed a major server backing up vm's to a separate server was a pain unless used scripts I ve nearly moved all to hyepr v and so much happier -
Talk to the head, I did and we removed them from circulation till staff got the message

Can I use Win7-64bit driver on 2008R2 server
irsprint84 replied to edutech4schools's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
same kernal so I would say yeah -
2010, why not? 60p not bad per client!
-
Forefront Endpoint protection 2010, sccm is a pain but sccm 2012 is out soon as is alot easier
-
I see the problem, a legal problem! you need to cover your back and tell them the case and in writing. I got offer 8k 3 years smoothwall then I would get FEP its about 60p per machine on volume licencing
