Is the vm on 2012? Does it use the vmxnet3 adapter?

Hi All I am looking for some help with an issue I have with my newly acquired STB box. So my LED is on the wall and all my cabling is hidden within the wall. For some reason the STB doesnt want to play ball with the audio when using any one of the HDMIs already in the wall trunking. They are all the same make and brand. Video signal is fine. I have tried a different HDMI cable altogether and that works fine with video and audio but it now looks messy as I have a cabling trailing. Problem I have now is the HDMI head also is too large to fit the entry in wall and then filter in whilst all the other cabling is in there. Even I was to pull a cable out I struggle to get a HDMI cable. The cables I brought originally were low profile and thin HDMI cables and I think this might be the reason why the Zgemma is having problems with the audio. So I have been looking at a cable and the only one I can see to get through would be a cat6 cable, cut it off from one end and once its through the wall, recrimp the cable which I have done in the past so dont have an issue with this. So I am looking now at one of these HDMI over Cat6 extenders. However I am confused with different models, using ebay as an example (as I dont want to spend too much money on an expensive solution) I can see there are no powered ones and powered ones, ones which require 2 CAT6 cables etc. the more expensive ones (£30+) require external power which shouldnt be an issue. Could I get away with a cheap non powered one though, what is the difference? I am struggling to find a good comparison and what I WONT get with the non powered one. Why do some require 2 CAT6 and some only require 1? I am looking for audio and video delivery from the STB box so would 2 be better? Hi All Just a heads up to anyone not running a recent release of VMware vSphere 6. If you see any performance issues with your Windows 2012 servers using hardware version 11 and the VMXNET3 virtual adapter and the server relies on a SQL server for database access your most likely suffering an issue which we been seeing in our environment recently. Vmware have released a KB article, if your running ESXi 6.0 update 2 or above you should be fine but anyone running releases before this may need to following this KB article: https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2129176 Symptoms are: •You notice performance degradation for some client/servers workloads. •Packets have up to a 0.5 second delay over the expected arrival in the application. This issue is observed under these conditions: ◦The guest operating system is Windows Server 2012, Windows 8 or later. ◦The virtual machine is on hardware version 11/ ESXi 6.0 compatibility. ◦The virtual NIC is vmxnet3 and the driver version is 1.6.6.0. ◦The Receive Side Coalescing (RSC) feature is enabled globally and on the vmxnet3 adapter. ◦This issue is more prevalent when: ◾Running Microsoft SQL/TDS based workloads ◾Using Jumbo Frames ◾The client and server are on two different hosts Hope it helps anyone suffering these issues as this did take us a while to figure out what was going!

This isnt a virtual machine in VMware is it? If so what version is it?

Hi folks I am helping my father in law with replacing his 10 year old analogue 4 channel DVR unit. Its been playing up a bit and he just wants to get a newer up to date version but has 8 channels and at least 30 days recording. he currently is able to store a months worth on his old unit which has a 500GB disk. He wants to continue using his existing analogue cameras and then eventually may replace them as well as add more if he see's fit. He's given me a budget of £120 for an 8 channel DVR. Been looking on Amazon on Ebay and there seems to be a few options that could fit this bill. his requirements are off site viewing on mobile phone, 8 channel and 30 days recording. Currently his existing system he uses RF out to display on 2 TVs, I have noticed though that now the video output connections seem to only be VGA and HDMI which is fine however could really do with another video out. Has anyone got any suggestions because I really dont have a clue about CCTV and DVRs and could really do with some advice. thanks

ok Thanks, the issue I think I had is because the data is coming from 2 separate systems, there are some discrepancies to be expected. Managed to get it working though using the formula you mentioned and some help from an excel guide on vlookups, made some minor changes to it and and now when there is match it produces the number, anywhere where it can't find a number and name it just shows #N/A. This has helped big time as it now means I have lot less users to work through and makes my data cleansing job a bit easier. Thank you.

I think the problem is though my AD users and names within the door access system are different, there seems to be more AD names possibly because users have left or are named differently. So when I try to run the formula you mention I don't get the results and also in the formula wouldnt I need to factor in the door ID so it can marry the SAM account name to the Door ID? Thanks

I hit a bit of a stumbling block using vlookup in Excel. So I have compiled a spreadsheet with data from both systems, AD and door system. I have 5 columns, first 2 (sAMAccount Name and Pager) are from AD and (Firstname Surname, Door ID and combinedNames) are from door access system e.g How would I use vlookup to match whats in sAMAccountName to ChubbNames as they are all different order but ordered by alaphabet? I also need to integrate door ID in this so SamAccountname corresponds to the correct DoorID which relates to chubbnames Book1.xlsx

I found a script which allows me to extract from AD all usernames and pager details. As expected they are blank. Get-ADUser -Filter * -Properties sAMAccountName, pager | Select sAMAccountName, pager | Export-Csv .\UserPagers.csv -NoTypeInformation So I made a couple of amendments to the pager attribute on a few test users on the CSV file and then imported the file back into AD. Import-Csv -Path .\UserPagers.csv | ForEach {Set-ADUser $_.sAMAccountName -Replace @{pager="$_.pager"}} However I found that now each user in the 'pager' attribute now has the following set (using the user ORSTestUser3 as example): @{sAMAccountName=ORSTestUser3; pager=}.pager What have I done wrong?

Hi All I have a question on something I need to tackle within my enterprise. Just wondering if the tools mentioned on here would assist me. We about to purchase a solution which integrates our smart cards with Active Directory to facilitate room bookings in our building. For this to work I need to add a specific number as a Active Directory attribute or custom attribute. Doing this for every user will be a major pain so I am looking at a solution to do this at a bulk level. I hear products built into Windows like 'csvde' may be able to help or other 3rd party paid tools which have a GUI interface. I am thinking of using either the 'pager' attribute under AD, telephones tab or using a custom attribute field. However I will need to use Exchange Administrator tools to view this field as I believe its not possible to see this under AD users and computers? As the users are already created, I just need to update the 'pager' or 'custom attribute 1' field without amending any other details. Would this be possible? I have a test AD environment which a copy of the live AD environment. I am planning on testing this before I roll out to live production. I have details of users and their card number but I also need to extract of copy of the usernames in AD so I can marry the two data sets together. Appreciate any advice anyone can give me with this.

Hi All Had my Golf about 12 months now and has just come back from a routine minor service. In my previous car i used to use Forte diesel supplement which was recommended to me to help clear the soot and other bits which hang around in the pipe work, i do about 12000 miles a year but they are short hops. Approx 40 miles a day on average on local roads with twice a month with high speed motorway driving. Would it be safe to use this diesel supplement in the car and how often to people recommend this to be used also are there other supplements out there which are better than Forte? Any recommendations on this would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi All We use Yammer Basic in our organization just as an internal social media system to spread news etc. We have recently learnt that our organization name will change along with our email address domain and all the rest that is involved. I have been tasked with looking at Yammer and how we go about making the change and just had some questions. •I have looked through the admin page on Yammer and see that I can change the Network name to our new organization name but how would I go about changing all the email addresses within Yammer. I am aware that we need to make the changes on our email system first but is there a way to import the users with the new email addresses but not for them to lose the content they have already put on Yammer? •I have read on a few posts however they are very old that its not possible to do this with the basic version and it will create a new instance. If that is the case what are our options? We also hold an enterprise licensing agreement with Microsoft but don't believe we have the use of Yammer enterprise. •If we started from scratch using the new domain would we have a mechanism to migrate the old data into the new and recreate any groups? Any help on this would be most appreciated. Thanks

Hi All I have noticed that my account in AD has recently been locking out and dont know why. Its since I have changed my password. I now in the past we have had this issue and I want to try to find the root cause for this issue and identify a simple way to address this. Done the usual checks like changing my password on active sync (as that is usually a culprit) removed all credentials in credentials manager on my client machine. Now I have used the security log on our PDC emulator to help me identify the computer which I think might be locking out my account and I think it is event ID 4740 in security logs which gives me the answer however I am not 100% so just wanted to ask if anyone knows a better way (possibly in the form of a windows app) that will tell me this information with ease, if not an app possibly a script of some sort. It's getting really annoying and just want to find out the root cause. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi We are seeing issues with a custom front end application which is used for CRM. Using on a client workstation we are continuously asked for reprompts of windows authentication however if we enter the correct password it is now working. The CRM front end server is also not registering that an incoming request has come in when looking at event viewer. Before this we didnt have the issue. We had an issue similar with our development server however this was an issue relating to impersonation with our development server where a code change was required. We also made this change in our live environment and then setup and configured claims based authentication and IFD for CRM. Since doing this however the front end application is not working as expected. When browsing on local server it seems to load the site ok but just not on a remote domain workstation. I have done some fiddler traces and found that the non working is still showing auth as negotiate even though in IIS authentication it is set to only NTLM (negotiate has been removed entirely) In working it only shows as NTLM. The issue certainly is authorization but so far I have been unable to resolve. Any help on this would be most appreciated

umm ok thanks. Maybe its a graphics card issue then as its just a business PC I am using which won't really be tailored for graphics. I have the latest version of firefox installed on the 32-bit PC.

Hi On firefox I am unable to load a particular website which has animated graphics. Its fine in Chrome. The site with the issue is https://cybermap.kaspersky.com/ Does anyone know if I need set something in Firefox for this to work? If anyone else can try and confirm they having the same issue it would be most appreciated as I want to get this site up and running on our wall board TV. We can't use another browser as we have cctv cameras which rely on Quicktime and MOV files which isnt supported on Chrome. IE isnt an option for us either. I have tried IE tab and various other add-ons to make it think its using Chrome but it doesnt work. THanks

Hi All My company are looking to implement an internet facing deployment (IFD) with CRM Dynamics 2013 on premise. From my research I understand that a pre req is having ADFS setup within the domain. As we use Windows 2008 R2 Active Directory domain services, am I best using ADFS 2.0 or could we use ADFS 3.0 (based on Windows 2012 R2) if I built a separate server just for ADFS and then integrate this within our existing 2008 R2 AD environment? Our intention for using IFD maybe different from the usual cases. We need to use IFD to be able to talk to a cloud based solution. At the moment we don't have a requirement for external users accessing CRM or any other application on the intranet however I am aware in the near future we are planning on making our SharePoint available to the outside world. Currently this is achieved using a VPN connection and my understanding is SharePoint also utilizes ADFS. Any advice on this would be most appreciated. Thanks

Hi The only issue with that is my songs are mainly from SoundCloud so they are not official songs, more like remixed or songs produced by individuals and the only art is available on soundcloud. I have downloaded the art but its in a separate folder. I am guessing your solution would work fine with official releases.
