  1. we use unisevity here, after using uniservity for a while now i have to say i like it after a few upgrades to their system everyone is using alot more and service is excellent. all our feeder primarys are signed up and possibly more. all the staff are finding it increasingly easy to use now with an improved wysiwyg editor for ease of use. and also the opportunity to put code in if need be! the advantage of uniservity is that it is becta approved and is used as learning platform with great collaboration available etc... also to add there are many online help video's available which are really good for staff self training etc... very impressed with the service! cheers kris

    Con2Prt

put con2prt /? in the command prompt this will give you a list of things it's able to do! i had this problem at 1 of my schools i simply put \\SERVER1\APPLIC\CON2PRT\CON2PRT /F at the top of my script before it did anything else and it seemed to cure the problem!
  9. in ad select the users gp and then login scripts etc.. then put a link to a java script file this will produce a nice little message for them once logged in. mine recently told them that they were getting all their music deleted.
  10. you can set groups in AD for access to the sophos program i think ou have sophos user, sophos administrator etc... if you take the appropriate groups out of membership to the sophos groups this should either allow or dissalow them access to certain parts of the sophos anti virus program, if set up correctly they shouldn't be able to edit the auto update settings cheers kris
  11. he beat me to it! Kris

  16. thanks guy's i'm not at that school again till next week now, strange everything works at my main school where I set everything up!!!! i'll let you know the outcome but thanks again, these forums are a godsend !!!!!
  17. either way it still just wants to install files from the disk every time, It wouldn't be so bad if it popped up and asked for the user information and actually let you in to word etc.. But at the mo it won't let you into anything when logged on as a member of staff or a pupil, but when you log in as administrator everything works perfectly!
  18. Any body have any ideas about this i'm stumped and no longer have the will to think I'm having an issue with ms office on quite a few machines where it works fine logged in as admin, but if your logged in as a user it comes up with the configuration/setup box and it can't find the file, so i put the cd in and it installs all its stuff but then when the machine is restarted and logged on again with the same user it doesn't work again. its been a right pain in the ass 8O . seems only to be win xp machines on a win 2k3 domain!
