Box and Hey have just rolled out FTTP round here. We signed up their 100mb (synchronous) connection (they go up to 1gb sync), and rock 95+mb pretty much the whole time. It looks like these sort of projects are on the rise so will hopefully give openreach a the kick-in-the-pants they need to up their game.

It's worth a try. We've taken various runs at this sort of thing with various levels of success. When I first stared I made A5 laminated cards to go with every computer broken up into "I can't..." sections. All the same stuff is it plugged in/turned on (remember the monitor power button is on the underside of bezel) type stuff. I still see them taped to the occasional desk although the advice is completely out of date now. But I think it helped a little (or at least made us look proactive). We've got stickers on the soundbars telling people how to use them (as in "If this light is green, press the power button" and "this light should be red. Use the input button to change it") This seems to be working okay. At least people aren't calling us to come turn the soundbars on as much anymore. Our most successful one was a little homebrew desktop utility that allowed staff to do things like re-launch the papercut client or re-authenticate with Smoothwall (mostly it fixes little things that should have happened at startup but occasionally don't for some reason).

We're trialing Filewave for remote device management, so far it's looking good (seems to work better than intune for us).

To be fair, students at our school might transition between bubbles during the school day (for example if they catch a buss, they have to move from their "year group bubble" to their "buss bubble").

Well... you could argue that wearing a mask gives people a false sense of security when out and about despite a lot of people not wearing them properly or having cheep naff ones, or not following proper sanitisation protocols when putting on/removing them. Check the event log for any signs of trouble. To be honest, I'd be looking beyond the drives. It sounds like a possible graphics/driver issue to me, but realistically it could be anything up to and including CPU/RAM. Or as simple as a corrupted driver or DLL. Look for any commonalities in what you were doing when it went down. Years ago my PC would crash every time it tried to load video thumbnails in file explorer, which wound up being due to a dodgy xvid codec.

We haven't tried it for an "online parent's evening", since lockdown. As I said, it mostly just ticks along in the background. The only gotcha can think of was that for LDAP or ADFS to work on SIMS synced staff, their primary email in SIMS had to be their school email. It might be worth looking at headsets (or at least headphones) to stop crosstalk if people are in the same room

We've had mixed to poor results with wireless display tech in classrooms. I'd look at another input like Protec suggests. If you wanted to make it almost transparent for the end user I've used NEET HDMI auto-switchers very effectively at home (although this would be adding in another thing to go wrong) Depending on what else they want and how they plan to use the surface while it's connected, it might be worth looking at docks (either the official surface dock or 3rd party USB-C ones). The first place I worked every teacher had their own laptop and each room had laptop docking stations so the projector, wired network and USB for the IWB was a single connector. If they're going to be plugging a couple of things in then it makes for a much neater/easier solution.

I've gotten really good mileage out the Logitech H360 (which I think has been superseded by the H390).

Pretty much our experience with it. It just gets on with the job and doesn't cause me any hassle. I like that in a software package. I'd bet they either haven't noticed it can do video-chat or didn't think to look "because it's not proper Parent's Evening" or something. If it were here, I'd fully expect them to still be using parentseveningsystem to book the appointments and then copying them across manually.
