I think Dell must have a load of nearline SAS disks stuck in their warehouse, we were quoted all nearline as well. It seems like Dell are in one of those useless phases at the moment, which is a shame as I like their kit but they just don't seem to be offering sensible configs.

It's easy if your RAID controller supports multiple RAID arrays, just stick the new disks in the spare drives, create a RAID array and then in VMWare just add the new array as local storage. You can then use migrate in VMWare to move the VM onto the new storage.

I would contact TASC directly with your questions, they may not have some of your requests but they are very good at producing little patches and updates for feature requests. Any bits you don't want can be turned off in the admin panel, I would seriously look at leaving the update details one turned on, it saves a lot of admin time.

I've always done it through a dealer rather than a leasing company, had no problems with scratches, scrapes and over mileage. They want your repeat business for your next car so they tend to look after you. Also the manufacturers often do deals like 0% and free servicing which are worth snapping up ;-)

Basically, over mileage only comes into play if the car is returned to the manufacturer/finance company. This rarely happens as usually the dealer buys the car back rather than the manufacturer/finance company and value the car as is, which is always higher than the manufacturer/finance value. Our last car was 17,000 over limit, weren't bothered at all and no charges.

Skoda have some new promotion running from Friday, might be worth looking at the Skoda Citigo. I've used PCP plans for the last 2 cars, just less hassle and have a fixed monthly cost with no surprises, plus a new car every 3 years ;-)

Blimey, we may have differences over our political views @localzuk but I'm in total agreement with you on this. I've gone through costing this as well after some member of SLT decided cloud is the way to go, worked out over double the cost of our current server infrastructure.

Ok, rant time. Yes I voted for the 'Tory Scum' in the election, no I'm not a die hard Tory, I've voted for various parties in the past including Labour. I volunteer and support our local Food Bank and other charities that have developed around it. It's one of the first Food Banks to have opened and that was when we had a Labour government as there was obvious need even then. We have 150+ clients every week, each gets a meal and a food parcel but most importantly someone who chats to them and tries to help them with ways to get back on their feet. That includes finding housing if they're homeless, helping them budget or finding them help for addictions. Over the winter we provided 30 beds for the homeless which were all in use every night, out of those visitors we managed to find housing for 80 of them. Since then we've also received enough donations to open a daily drop in centre to help people with life skills such as reading and writing, completing job application forms etc. We've also opened a pay if you can cafe supported by local food retailers who provide us with free food near end of shelf life. We also run a drop in on a Friday and Saturday night, where people can come along and have a meal and talk, we also provide play facilities for their children. So, what's my point, basically I'm sick and tired of keyboard warriors spending all their time spouting on about how evil anyone is who voted Tory and how bad it is for the poor. This achieves absolutely nothing, apart from really annoying people and completely putting them off ever voting for left wing parties. A little challenge for you keyboard warriors, how about you get away from your computers for a couple of hours at the weekend and do something that actually will make a difference for the poor and go and volunteer at a local charity that helps the poor. You'll make a massive difference and also give everyone a bit of peace and quiet

I would quite like PR within an elected upper chamber to replace the House of Lords, but I still think the current system works best for electing members of parliament in the House of Commons. Quite simply because I feel it's important to have one MP who is elected to represent your constituency and at a size of constituency where this is feasible. This just isn't possible with PR. If you want to know why, just try getting a response to an issue from one of your regional members of the European Parliament.

Whichever way you look at it though, the left wing parties would still have lost even if some people changed their votes to different parties. You'd probably have seen a bigger vote for UKIP and the Green Party, but you wouldn't have seen much voter switch from Right to Left parties.
