  1. The picture is a picture of an image I found online I can't actually access that computer. Thanks
  2. They do have RM Connect but I would like to know if anyone knows how they managed to do it. Also you cannot change the background of the login screen easily on Windows 8. Anyone else got any other ideas?
  3. I would like to create a login banner much like the one in the picture below for the login screen in Windows 8. I would prefer if it could be group policy deployable but doesn't have to be. Also I know it's definitely possible because I know a school in the local area that has the exact same banner but on Windows 8. Hope someone can help thanks .
  4. I didn't mean to say that the way I typed I was basically saying they do it so is there anyway I can. Sorry.
  5. I have two switches because we have a lot of computers and we have two wireless routers because we have a big building and need wifi access at both ends of the building. Many companies, organisations and schools have many different switches and wireless routers not just one of each.
  6. So how do I set that up?
  7. Ok thanks for the reply what does VLANS mean?
  8. Can't anyone help me with this?
  9. Hi I am currently trying to set up a network for an organisation and cannot seem to be able to get any of the routers or switches on the same network. We now have Cat5 network ports connected to the switches throughout the building. We have a Netgear WGR614v9 (Router 2) connected to a Netgear WGR614v9 (Router 1) We also have a TP-LINK TL-SF1008D (Switch 2) connected to a Netgear R114 (Switch 1) connected to a Netgear WGR614v9 (Router 1). Printer 1 is connected to the Netgear R114 (Switch 1) Printer 2 is connected to the TP-LINK TL-SF1008D (Switch 2) Network Port 1 (Printer 1), Network Port 3 and 4 are connected to the Netgear R114 (Switch 1) Network Port 2 (Printer 2), Network Port 5, 6 and 7 are connected to the TP-LINK TL-SF1008D (Switch 2) At the moment I have to be connected to port 3 or 4 to print to Printer 1 and 5, 6 and 7 to print to Printer 2. I also cannot print wirelessly from either of the routers. This is because all the switches and routers are in 4 separate networks. I would like to know how I can connect all the routers and network switches together so they are all on the same network (so I can print to printer 1 and 2 from any switch or router and also be able to connect to other computers on the network regardless of the network switch or router they are connected to. Can someone please help and also try to explain how I can do this in step by step instructions as I am quite new to this. Thanks, Richard
  10. Thanks guys! DirectAccess is my answer and I've found out how to do it but I've got an issue with not being able to connect to my DNS with my private IP 192.168.0.100 which is completely understandable as that's only a private IP. Can anyone help me on how to access my DNS from a public IP. Also is it advised that I have Static IP's for my Network Connection when I have DirectAccess or should I only have Static Ip's for directaccess as I can't connect to routers with different subnets with a static IP. Hope someone can help me and thanks everyone for your help so far. rbd12345

  12. I'm not interested in contracting out
  13. All clients at one point will leave the building as all but one are laptops. They need to connect to the same buildings server and there are not different domains. Can I please remind people I haven't done this before so answering questions maybe hard and it maybe hard for me to understand what you are asking me. Thanks rbd12345
  14. The client is connecting from home and I don't want to use TeamViewer or LogMeIn as these people will be very rarely using the computers on the server network. There is 14 people that need to connect regularly offsite. I would like to use VPN but I need someone to give me a step by step guide of how to deploy the connection and allow it to connect automatically without the user having to do the thing. I've tried it before but I have an issue where the static ip address won't work, neither will the dns server, I can't access internet connection or anything on the network (using an admin account) and I also had an issue connecting to the VPN automatically during startup before anyone logs in so the system can connect to login services. Thanks rbd12345
  15. Hi All, I'm new to this and are currently having some issues on sorting this out. I would like to be able to connect to the server from different networks without the user using the client computer needing to do anything. I would like it to be able to connect to the server network, be able to access shared folders and printers, be able to connect automatically, without changing from the server's dns and static ip and be able to connect to the server with internet connection. It would be much appreciated if anyone could help as I've never done this before and if possible can you reply with a step-by-step answer Thanks, rbd12345 Also if anyone knows how to deploy the latest Office 2013, Libreoffice, iTunes or Proclaim Worship Presentation please email me at [email protected]. Thanks
  16. Hi all, I am trying to deploy a printer but everytime I do the printer is deployed via \\servername\printername. Does anyone know how I can deploy a printer so that it appears \\domainname.com\printername. I hope someone will be able to help. Thanks in advance
  17. Thanks plexer I know that the $ makes the share hidden that's the whole reason why I would like the $. But in the end I just created a share called userdata$ and forwarded my folder redirections to here. Thanks everyone for all your help!
  18. Hi I am trying to create a shared folder that can be accessed from the domain but at the moment it doesn't seem to be working. If I create a shared file and add a word document to it I can see the word document fine in the C:\ Drive. If I access the shared folder by using \\SERVERNAME\MYSHAREDFOLDER it works fine as well. But im trying to access my shared folder from \\MYDOMAIN\MYSHAREDFOLDER the folder opens fine but then the files or word document inside it does not seem to show up. If I try adding another file to it a message is shown saying "Could not find this item. This is no longer located in \\MYDOMAIN. Verify the item's location and try again. Please Help! Thanks in advance
  19. I would like to be able to create Folder Redirections that end in $ but don't seem to be able to find a way to do this. For example username$. I have tried \\servername\user\%username%$. But this does not seem to work.
  20. Thanks MatthewL. You're a life saver.
  21. Hi, I am trying to find out how to synchronize wallpapers across clients. In other words if I change my background/wallpaper on 1 computer I would like that background/wallpaper to be the same on all the other clients when I log into my user account. Hope you can help me with this?
  22. Yes but I've installed it on every individual computer now thanks anyway. I only have 30 computers on the server so it didn't take long.
  23. The error I get is: Add operation failed. Unable to extract deployment information from the package. Run validation on the package to ensure that the package is correct.
  24. So how can I add either Office 2007 or 2013 to my server and client computers.
