We just had this too, luckily we quickly isolated the infected client, and restored from backup. Sophos did sod all to stop it.

I had a Hornet 600 for my first bike. Did track days, toured, commuted and weekend runs. Never missed a beat. Have a sports bike now, but still miss the hornet.

What do you get when you look your IP up on the blacklist page? This usually gives you detailed information as to why it is happening.
-
What information is on the blacklist page? Is traffic from your ip going to a sinkhole? Command and control traffic going to a sinkhole can also get you blacklisted If so, then you can look for the sinkhole ip in your firewall logs, and trace it back to the infected client. Be careful not to request removal too many times, as if you keep getting blacklisted they may stop you requesting removal. If you are really struggling to find the infection the you could block all traffic to the sinkhole IP in your firewall, but that isn't really the solution.

So the captive portal and guest accounts are on your wireless controller? You can change the authentication policy on your Smoothwall for your BYOD network to "No Authentication".

[Moodle] Is keeping it up to date really this annoying?

GIT here too, also virtual so can snapshot before upgrade, just in case. -
Another cyclist with a camera going out to look for confrontation. Seems to be becoming a popular hobby. Why not just ride defensively, and mind your own business, like the majority of other road users do.

Realtek and Intel drivers - Disabling the stupid fancy driver screens
lostsoul replied to googlemad's topic in O/S Deployment
I was simply pointing out that you could stop sysprep from removing drivers if you wanted to. Maybe it's not relevant to the OP, but it's useful to know. I don't see anything wrong with having an image with some drivers in it. In my mind the main function of /generalize is to remove the unique identifiers and make the image safe to deploy on multiple computers. -

But what if you're using something else to push your images out? not everyone has the luxury SCCM. Sometimes you might want to add several drivers to the image to make it work on different platforms. It's not elegant, but it works. -

You can stop Sysprep removing drivers by setting the following: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\Sysprep\Settings\sppnp set PersistAllDeviceInstalls to 1 -
Realtek and Intel drivers - Disabling the stupid fancy driver screens

I install just the drivers, and not the software. Can normally control everything you need natively in Windows. -
I came into work last week after a powercut and found our 2 esxi hosts would not boot, after some investigation I found that the RAID controllers had failed in both. I pinched one out of a non-essential server to get one node back up and running. The cards in question are Intel SRCSASRB, and I'm struggling to source replacements. Would I be able to put a more modern intel card and recover the configuration from the disks? If so can anyone recommend a suitable card? Cheers

Bulk edit users office 365 ( only 20 ? per page )
lostsoul replied to PHAICT2's topic in Cloud Services
The link I posted above should do exactly what you want. It will make the change for all users except any admin users. You can also assign licenses with Powershell. If you have not used Powershell much before I suggest you try and get a basic understanding. Trying to manage 365 without it will be very time consuming -

If you are trying to change the UPN, there is a good guide here: Office 365 PowerShell Tip: Bulk change UPN's - The admin gui is simply not designed for bulk changes, as Microsoft expect people to use PowerShell. -

I would use powershell for that. -
We use a product called everyone print. There are apps for mobile devices, and native airprint support(You will need to use an mDNS relay if the tablets are on a different VLAN to the server). Email printing is also possible. The licence that includes the office conversion engine will make life easier.

Is proxyAddress populated in AD with the correct SMTP address. If not add the address and try syncing. Also does the UPN for your users match their email address? I believe this was a requirement for DirSync, but may have changed in more recent versions.

Can't beat a Mikrotik routerboard for a cheap layer 3 device with loads of features. Combine with a basic L2 managed switch like the one above and you will have a nice set up.

I only discovered it after a teacher asked for it to be installed in a classroom. Not used it much my self, but have it in quite a few rooms now and it gets used a lot by students.

We use office mix: https://mix.office.com/watch/17dx9k3gjcbhy

Yes, I have Guest and lab networks as well as my main home network running on one Unifi ap. Routing, and captive portal for the guest network are done on the Mikrotik.

I was given a Mikrotik RB2011UiAS-RM and a Unifi AP, I added a Draytek ADSL modem. I have been using that setup at home now for a year and have been very happy. It may seem overkill for a home network, but it offers serious stability and flexibility. It also has the advantage that you can upgrade individual components as needed. I would never go back to an integrated modem/router/wireless solution.
