I saw the WTF from TB, there is a more humorous one here I picked the game up as I missed the kickstart and have found it a good way to kill 10 - 15 minutes

I need to provide some failover for our client access services on exchange. We currently have one server doing all roles bar the mailbox. The mailbox servers are all set up working in a DAG. The one CAS we have is the server the exchange certificate refers to. Now when I create an array am I going to have to edit the certificate to use the array name rather than the original server name. Or can I destroy the original CAS server and create the array name as the one on the certificate (the old server)?

I bought iPhone 4 on release day and it currently needs charging twice a day as the battery is near dead. So I am ready to buy a new phone ASAP but as someone who uses windows 8, will buy a surface and has a windows phone for work it may make much more sense to buy a windows phone 8. Unless of course apple come out with something more impressive than a larger screen, bigger processor and updated iPod interface. Will wait and see tonight if I buy a new iPhone or wait for the Windows 8 Vs iPhone 5 reviews to kick off in November. This is worth a read too http://micgadget.com/29723/the-undercover-report-on-how-the-new-iphone-5-is-made-inside-foxconn-factory/

[Sharepoint] Hide fields in new form / not edit form
HMCTech replied to oxide54's topic in Enterprise Software
If you fire up SharePoint Designer you should see that there are new and edit forms and you may be able to customize the form that way -
I can't take a decent photograph so save my life so I really enjoyed looking through your photos.

They are there for me. Have you tried pressing start and typing calc or notepad on the start menu. This searches you programes and finds them easily.

I am about to create a new DAG in Exchange and have one issue that all of our mailbox databases are on our SAN and Exchange currently has the databases on the original mailbox server pointing to the SAN. I am confident of creating the DAG but when I go to use Add-MailboxDatabaseCopy I am unsure what this will do on the new Exchange mailbox server. Will this attempt to create the databases in the default C:\Program Files\Exchange location? Or can I somehow tell the new Exchange server where to put the incoming databases before I copy? I have an issue because our mailbox servers are VM's that only have 50GB as a hard drive and our mailbox databases are around 400GB.

vCenter database filling up quickly (Minutes)
HMCTech replied to HMCTech's topic in Thin Client and Virtual Machines
I would say in 24 hours there are about 30 tasks and events in total and the database has about 15% left and it will be down to bout 5% in the next couple of hours before I run the scripts manually. -

In a situation where it may be easier and more preferable to create a new farm and "hopefully" restore all of our data and sites from the old farm in to the new one. But I am in new ground here and not sure if its possible to create a new farm and site collection then restore from a backup. Has anyone done this before? All I want is our content and sites that we have created over the years to be restored.

Had vCenter running for over two years now and suddenly in the past week it has decided the fail every hour or so because it fills the database up to its alloted size. I run a script that deletes all data from two days onwards and also one that deletes all task and event logs. This takes the database back u to 89% free but within 5 - 10 minutes its back up to 100% full on the VIM_VCDB database (not the logs, the logs are about 50mb). We haven't changed anything and we can't figure out how to see what is going on in the backend to see why so much data is being written if anyone knows how to see this from vSphere.

Only issues I have had in the past include the following Content directory is wrong in the registry of the management server Content directory is different in the management console to that of the registry Server group of application is set to a group that does not exist Problems connecting to SQL database with set credentials (As far as I know the default application doesnt use the SQL server so if that works but nothing else does it may be SQL) Usually the event log of the management server and the client give more details than the error window when launching an application

Do the OSD files have the correct management server and port specified?

Been reading up on this somewhat and from the information I have found, to have HA for exchange in our set up we will need two CAS/HT servers using Windows Network Load Balancing and two mailbox servers in a DAG. I have not gone into any tiny details yet as I have never added new servers to an exchange farm before once it is all set up but if anyone has any similar experiances and knows of any small details that are big deals and can share that would be very helpful.

I set up an installation of SCCM 2012 from RC to RTM and now wish to uninstall the whole product. Does anyone know how to do a proper cleanup of Active Directory and the network when you do an uninstall? Thanks

Jyst google Invitation To tender or ITT samples and customise any of the smaller ones you see. Most ITT's are large documents but you should be able to find a jist of what you need. the main aspects are that you put out what you require then you set a date for questions from potential suppliers to come back to you with so they can do their RTT based on more than just what you put on a document.

Has anyone ever populated a table in a database with the list of users in a domain group? I have two groups in Active Directory for each boarding house and I need to display the current users in those groups in a presentable way to the house parents. I need to populate a table with the users of these groups and just wondered if anyone has any script that I could run to do this.
