PPSample.xml This is copied straight from today's file, stripped to 1 staff and suitably renamed. MIS:Sync doesn't like either this or the original, but online upload has accepted today's file. Peter

Log on to ParentPay > People > Uploads and upload it manually. MIS:Sync often tells me there's nothing to import, even with a perfectly valid file. Peter

We tendered but MS Distribution (msdist) won.

We've got 75 nanoHD and 10 AC HD units. 1800 student iPads, 150 staff iPads and who knows how many phones. Peter

Ruckus and Smoothwall don't play nice with Radius. We pulled Ruckus out and put UniFi in last year.

Have you been eating the ammunition?? :-) Had a 00 gauge setup in the loft for ~15 years when I was a kid but sold now. -
I presume you've seen https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362163-Mass-Installation-and-Configuration-for-Windows Peter

Ah, we had that right at the start of SOLUS. Been fine since though.

We'll be doing this next week so we'll watch this thread! Peter

Where is that screenshot coming from? The server or the local pc? Is localhost correct?
-
Does this help anything: https://chocolatechips.me/projects/card2net2/ We use it for Paxton vs Papercut.

Hi Chris Log onto the local PC and remove the agent. Then remove the agent and target in SOLUS and re-add them. The agent will reinstall and redeploy the update. Peter

Yes, i've been creating ATF from a PHP/Google sheet for about 5 years. We don't use mailing point so won't have noticed that. Phone numbers we do set, with some formulae/logic when I generate the ATF to make sure an 07** number is set as mobile even if they give it us as home number, etc etc. At the end of the day, the ATF import from our parent-provided data is 200% better than the rubbish we get from primary schools (CTFs) and from LA (original ATF). Definitely ABDA, but you need VAMT to inject the new license key don't you? Or could/should i somehow remove the Pro key from AD and add the Edu key, which somehow causes the PC to reactivate itself as Edu? Peter
-
You can change OS by just sending new license key via VAMT. We had to do it last week for similar reasons. Peter

I completely agree it should be automated directly, but we do this with Salamander generating the XML file then using MIS:Sync to upload the XML - which I think the finance/kitchen team can do if I choose to let them. Saves the manual entering step at least, and ensures you get the correct matching IDs from whichever system you're matching to. Peter

Nationwide Trust-E Cashless Catering Install
howartp replied to jj99's topic in How do you do....it?
Ok, problem solved. Don't logon as systemadmin if you're an RM school. The msi can't find n:\My Settings\some\folder\that\exists Use domain\adminstrator and it's fine. Peter -
Nationwide Trust-E Cashless Catering Install
howartp replied to jj99's topic in How do you do....it?
Sorry to bump an old thread. Has anyone put Rgen9 onto Windows 10 and had a problem with the installer - it copies files then I think it's the registering modules that fails and rolls back. "The installer was interrupted before NRS Report Generator v9 could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again." Also can anyone check what is in the RunMe.bat - that's an extra step that isn't in the install files we were given by our installer? Peter -
Just replied to your pm. I’m not “up” yet but will be doing our ATF as soon as I get to my desk. Internet died on me last night or I’d have ours done and in SIMS by now.

I've spent 10-12 hours this week training one of my new church treasurers by Zoom, with my 2nd monitor shared so we can work on spreadsheets and PDF reports/statements. Would never have happened pre-covid as we couldn't have got together that much.
-
We've got 9 Zoom Pro licenses under one account, locked down, plus one large-meeting addon for Staff Meetings. Opened a ticket re the Education account 3 weeks ago and keep getting "thanks for your ticket, we're really busy and will get back to you" auto replies... Only real issue we have is not being able to preemptively stop Cameras before they're turned on. You can stop mics before you admit students, and you can stop camera once they start it (which prevents them re-starting it) but can't stop cameras up front. Local recording is blocked but forced to record on cloud, and hosts can't delete their own recordings.

iPad control for IT Support (post lockdown)
howartp replied to howartp's topic in Network and Classroom Management
If a student comes in saying she can’t edit a document that’s been shared in Google Docs (for example) I would normally take the iPad off them and play around with it, check they’re signed into Google, check they’re on right WiFi, check app and iOS up to date. That requires touching the iPad and seeing the screen. Neither MDM nor Screen Recording helps me fix that problem (except if broadcasting screen to my PC to allow viewing, but it doesn’t help touching)
