  1. Our PE department have a fancy set of dancemats and the system to drive it which cost about £4k im poingint them in the direction of kinect... far superior and a hell of a lot cheaper. As for classroom use, it certainly has the potential!
  2. Redundencies, ours were announced on friday and its not a good place to be right now
  3. i think its fun having all these old cartoon pics, gone for D&D myself
  4. or manually download the latest kitchen sink kernel and transfer it to your fog machine, then update your fizzbooks host info with the kernel name and location
  5. #Finally snow in plymouth, but only a light dusting, doubt there will be any closures, tomorrow should be fun when this all melts and freezes overnight...
  6. Ive got Kinect, so dont need this old fashioned style of exercise
  7. Some brilliant shots in there, the one of the US marine in the medivac is haunting..
  8. which just means hes moved his xbox to much and the hard drive needs reseating
  9. Im pretty sure it doesnt, the new models are different and the drives are just normal drives again, nolong in the big grey plastic box, pretty much the same as the ps3, cant see it invalidating the warrenty either as your not opening the 360, they made the hard drive removable for a reason
  10. pretty much all of the "rumours" of the slim360 rrod are fake, the console doesnt even have a red led aparently. the only real fault is error86 (i think) and its due to the hard drive needing to be reseated. also seen people complaining how the discs get scratched in the drive but its down to the idiots shaking the console... Haters hating for the sake of hating...
  11. you can get the new slim 4gb model then pop in your own hard drive, there are tutorials on how to do it, a freind of mine did it this way, wish i did too as it would have saved a few bob
  12. Gutted, the guy was a legend
  13. Snap, and whats more annoying is the bloomin cornish have snow! There was a light dusting over the moors so we took Kunu up there yesterday, ffffreeezing! here my fav pic from our outing http://i316.photobucket.com/albums/mm360/kevbaz/PHOTO_11792898_72100_7509046_ap_730X550.jpg

    So.... Kinect

We got ours the otherday, simply brilliant, soo much fun and its damn impressive, weve not noticed any lag what so ever so ive no idea what people are doing to get it? maybe e-honda 1000 hand slap?? Kinect Adventures is really good fun, starts off easy enough and at a good pace, the random photos it takes of you are hilarious! you are soon sweating your ass off though as the difficulty rises so does the room temp!! we didnt have to move any furninture at all but sometimes had a bit of bother for width of the room but thats mainly due to us having our stirs in with us... but a little realignment of the camera and we were soon flapping away happily again. On the disc are three demos, dance central, joy ride and fitness your way, all three are are very impressive, yes even joyride, sure its got a slight auto steer but this is a game for all ages and little johnny may need that bit of help, i never noticed it, it didnt steer me away from crashing into everything or take any fun away. Dance central is gonna be such a laugh if thats your type of thing, the demo has two songs you can play and its works seamlessly, bad dancers beware! every move you make counts! it works flawlessly no lag or anything, perfect! and lastly fitness yourway, starts off with a quick calibration, it works out your height and by the looks of it your build/shape, your only get to try one mini game in the demo which is the wall buster where you have to punch bricks, good little work out and defentinatley shows off the "games" potential. So far we have not seen any of this so called lag, it works perfectly and the quality of the video on it is brilliant, we had our 1st kinect video call to my gf's best mate who now lives in the states and again works great, slight delay on the voice now and again but given she was a few thousand miles away it didnt bother us at all. All in all very impressed, would definately reccomend to those who like the party games like the Wii, it takes it to the next step and more! so much fun

    LoveFilm on PS3

works seamlessly for me, on skybb i get about 5-7mb. the catalogue isnt amazing but certainly enough titles to keep you busy with somethign to watch, think the biggest film they have is I Am Legend? but they also have the orginal Omega Man too, and lastnight we watched some retro Peter Jackson... BrainDead
  17. i think he meant the ones for the car but yeah nice thick pair of socks is advisable this time of year, got a few pairs from my help for heroes yomp last year
  18. So itll be the iStation? (im patenting that name right now! haha) massive apple logo on it and a all in one entertainment system (nothing will be just a console anymore) and phone features such as texts and voip via a headset/controller
  19. When i took it apart i double checked everything and it was all snug, the thing hasnt moved from its spot in 2 years and i dont play on the it at all, only use it for blueray and i think ive had a problem with the controller so had been using a usb cable, i use Lovefilm and you can now stream to the ps3 with certain subscriptions with them and as i didnt have the latest firmware it wouldnt let me go online, only reason i did the update.
  20. seriously give it a go, its one of the reported ways to fix them, ive never tried but used a heat gun with positive results, bunging it in the oven might be easier
  21. Have tried everything, new hard drive freshly formatted and the latest firmware on a usb, ps3 formats fine, installs fine but then always fails about 65% on any firmaware. i belive its to do with the wifi/bluetooth board so ive orderd a new one, the ps3 is alot easier to take apart than the xbox i can tell you! haha
  22. i wonder if anyones original PS3 or 360 will actually live seamlessly for 10years? my ps3 decided to stop working this weekend and is stuck on trying to install an update which it always fails! was working fine before... but its out of warrenty and im not paying for it to be fixed! my origional xbox rrod and could never be fixed! my 2nd i recently sold when i bought the new 360 'slim'
  23. i doubt theres anything thats going to be out any time soon, looking atleat 5 years i rekon, all the major compaines are improving their existing consoles and bringing out fantastic bits of kit like kinect id say Nintendo will have to be first to move it up a gear

    So.... Kinect

its reccomended that atleast 6ft from the tv/kinect for single player and 8ft for 2 players, need room behind you to step back etc depending on the game your playing
  25. this is also reported as a way to fix 360's and ps3's with rrod and ylod
