Cannot seem to get Numbershark4 to install, each time it says it is missing publicsent2.sha. I have set up the shares on the server with the correct permissions, but no joy! Does anyone have a step by step on getting this installed?

We currently have two Netgear Readynas 2100's on sight and have been trying to use the inbuilt back up facility that comes with them, but having no luck at the moment! Does anyone else use these and have a working solution? Or a piece of software that would do the job ideally?

Hi, Having an issue at the moment with inconsistent time being set across the domain, all time is set from on of the DC's which links to an external time source. I have now set up a 2008r2 server and configured it as a NTP server with the correct time, finally! However how do I get the DC to look at the NTP server as a time source?

We currently have a large touch screen display in our library which is really being used a glorified space excluder, and I would like to set up to be moved between classes when needed and have some interesting and fun activities. it runs Windows 7 and is networked. We cater for children from reception till year 6 so all ideas welcome

Hi, I have just taken over the management of a school with very little documentation. I have been asked to input the correct license key into their laptop, but I can find no trace of it written down anywhere and cannot seem to find any reference to it in the software... Anybody know a way of retrieving the license key or is it best seek the assistance of Promethean? Thank you

Papercut not authenticating
kidpressingbuttons replied to kidpressingbuttons's topic in Enterprise Software
Hi there, firstly thank you for taking the time to reply! when the print job is sent, it does not appear in the print que and papercut refuse to open to authenticate the print job, we get no pop up or any error messages. it is as if the jobs are not even reaching the print server. it is installed on the machine and is running but just doesn't seem to notice when a print job is sent and just sits there doing nothing. Just tried to end the process and it did not make any difference when it started again. Thank you -
Hi, Currently having issues with papercut on 3 of my staff members and their machines, out of no where papercut will refuse to authenticate any print jobs. It only affects certain users logged on, not all of them. As staff members share machines this can mean that one member of staff can print, yet others cant! The staff member affected can go to another machines and be able to print no problem! I have been in contact with Papercut and even they have no idea... Does anyone else have experience with this? Thank you (in advance)!

Well my thought was the staff should be trusted to choose the correct department, also keeping cover teachers happy not having to know 15 codes, where as students cant just pick a department randomly. The pin codes for our student shared accounts change hourly, thanks to MircodigitUK, so a member of staff has to issue them with the correct pin code for that lesson.
-
Set up shared accounts i.e. Maths dept, then go into user settings and bulk user actions and set balance to zero and tick the option allowing them to charge to a shared account which will in turn allow them to find the department they wish to charge to from the drop down list in the client software. You will also need to go into the security settings in the shared account and add a grouping that you have created in AD which will allow people to charge to that account. We have all our departments in groupings on AD and use these to assign them to the specific shared accounts, to do it simply put all your staff into a STAFF group and all your Students in a STUDENT group and assign them that way, or you get more detailed and separate staff according to department Our set up has two accounts for each department. 1 for staff and 1 for students, staff access it through a drop down list and students through a pin code! Hope this helps

I am currently an apprentice and all my training is done with Fast Forward! The hours are really flexible and I was out only one day a week for about three months.

Hi, I am currently looking into a method of teachers being able to release the printing for their classes, I have set up and had a tinker with the release station side of things but this allows people access to the entire print queue, which we don't want. As an end result we would like a teacher in IT for example to use a URL to get to the PaperCut release interface for their room only. Is this possible at all or does anyone have any alternatives?

Mostly along the lines that MicroDigitUK was saying. But I'm open to any other suggestions if you have any?
-
That would be extremely helpful thank you!

Hello All, We are currently looking into implementing Papercut in our school, it has already been set up and is ready to go!! However we want to be able to add a daily generated password for the morning and afternoon which the staff and students would have to enter to be able to print, have had a look into this but just wanted to know if anyone else has had any experience with this?
