Thanks for that Steve - Silly question but you don't know what concurrent/non concurrent means?

Voted. Video made me smile as well :-) good work. -
I am so sorry to hear this Luke, how upsetting for you both. I hope he can recover them somehow, but I would be so angry that he laughed at you, and apparently put off telling you for so long? How long has he known about them being lost?

I have a feeling all schools have to have clip on ties or elastic ones now - could be wrong but feel like I heard that somewhere. Something about health and safety. Very strange health and safety!

Me please too! I love chocolate :-)

I think it encourages sympathy in a way - (love the show by the way, and think it is very realistic) People who have no dealings with school think it's all sunshine and daisy's, but this show shows how difficult it can be for staff and students. It also shows how much the staff care about the students and that is really important.

Two outages in a week for anyone else?

Phone problems here all morning...waiting to get through to talktalk... -
Hopefully in the right section here. Can you purchase Photoshop or is the only option now to take the Creative Cloud subscription?

Fostex ones look like really powerful, but might be a step too far for us. Anything midrange any knows of?

Sorry for posting this as I am sure I have read, and participated in, a thread somewhere but can't find it! I want some new speakers for our assembly set up - everything is portable and currently we use a set of speakers with subwoofer etc and it's hastle for assemblies to set up and take down every morning. Would love a little speaker which just needs plugging in the power and laptop and is loud enough to fill the hall, yet cheap enough that I can just buy it without anyone questioning it haha! Has anyone got any recommendations?

This has to be one of the sweetest things ever...

Aw what a sweet thing to do! -
I was in the same situation as you a year back - had little IT knowledge, was capable of using a PC, but had never had to manage them. Was incredibly lucky to get the job as I was up against some very IT experienced people (degrees and the works :-/ ) Have managed with the help of my team who are very helpful and will always show me how to do things, using edugeek and youtube/google. Please feel free to message me anytime for support, as I know how it feels!

We have a club in school with a number of students - I pop along sometimes but haven't got my own set or anything - would be interested though, it is just finding the time between work and uni.

Or Pamphlets as they are named by Sharp. We have a newish sharp copier - MX7040 We are used to being able to reduce A4 documents to print on A5 booklets on Ricoh machines. Really struggling on this print driver though. Has anyone got a similar machine?

We are just looking at buying a few - Canon SX160 seem the ones for now although no idea what they are like, but the teacher wants it to have AA batteries so they can use rechargeable ones and have spares about for it. Anyone used this one? Also, anyone know where is the best place to purchase about 15 of them?

Class set of headphones - portable storage solution required
Novalee replied to BatchFile's topic in How do you do....it?
Ah, just spotted they aren't expecting more until the end of November -that's a shame - but will keep them in mind for next time. Have created an account so when that goes through will call and see if they have anything similar as these seem fab. I like the idea of selling them on to students as well, if they look 'cool' enough they could help the students as headphones aren't really very cheap in shops. -

Wow that really is good! What a bargain! Will create an account and ask when they will have more. Do you have a contact there? -

How much were these? Shows as out of stock at the moment with no price displayed but curious about the price difference in buying 'indestructible' ones compared to flimsy, easily destructible ones. -
This seems to be it - there was a custom port as well as the standard IP port and they seemed to be conflicting with the old printer from that room - so have deleted all, reinstalled and hunky dory now! Thanks for all the help!

Huh - spoke too soon. Showing as 'error' now - can ping it still, and get a reply - have checked it is on the right IP address - DNS etc. seem normal. Still; no flashing lights on the network card though which is what is confusing me - it's a HP 1320 so no options on the printer really. Cannot add it as a new printer anywhere - it can't be found... tempted to uninstall it and re-do it from scratch - likely to help or just a waste of time? Thank you for that Mac, it is always handy to know why I am doing things rather than just doing them!
-
Thank you Mac! The quote you wrote about the clearing the SNMP Status seems to have worked. What is that exactly, just so I fully understand, as our other printers all have this checked and they seem to work correctly.
-
Sorry to do this Witch, but it's done it again! IP address has stayed the same luckily, but printer remains offline with green light on network card - not flashing and no orange. Any more ideas?

I had that to my personal email yesterday with a .zip file attached. Reported as scam and emailed my friends to let them know if they receive one, not to open. Don't know where they get the addresses from - it's so frustrating.
