We have a Win 98 box running our library, soon to be replaced with a new XP box. We even have a Win 95 box running in SEN, but as they don't want to upgrade, and I don't support it, I don't see it being replaced any time soon.

I've also got 1.1 and 2.0 in my RIS image (again for Paint.Net), and if 3.0 doesn't muck up my test machine I'll deploy it next week.

The extra strain would come more from the 16 extra IF statements rather than the quantity of code, but you could get around that by using a SWITCH statement which would be more efficient. However Webman's approach is probably better, not simply for the server but also for you when you have to modify it later.

You could always add a conditional statement in the head of the template file. if ($_GET['option'] == 'com_contact') { ?> } ?> I use this to imbed Google Maps on the contact page without having to call an external script on every page. It may not be the most elegant solution, but it works and puts very little extra strain on the server.

Have you set IIS to use anonymous access for the reset page, specifying a user which has permission to reset passwords in AD? If not, that's where your problem lies

Nape not there, IE based "run" actions are in C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\ but block BOTH as both are holes. D'oh, of course it is ^^;

It seems someone's caught on, as admin / admin worked a few minutes ago, but now it's not being recognised. Either that or someone here was feeling evil and changed the admin passwords :twisted:

Try redirecting My Documents aswell. If my understanding of profiles is right, anything that's not redirected or excluded via GPO will be copied locally.

@Disorder & Ric: The Alpha Smart looks like a perfect solution, however we've been given a grant for a laptop, so a laptop is what we'll get. I may however suggest SEN get a couple of Alpha Smarts aswell. @Norphy: As good as a kidproofed laptop sounds, we won't be buying from RM again in the near future. The build quality of the RM laptops we already have (Not RM One) coupled with their inability to fulfill a simple order means they're not currently high on our prospective supplier list. What kind of laptops do you use for LS?

I've been asked to select a laptop for use by one of our SEN students. It will probably only be used for general office apps so doesn't need to be anything spectacularly powerful. My main concern is that we get something reliable and robust with a clear screen that can withstand being carted around by a 10 - 13 year old. Can anyone suggest something suitable?

What useful functionality does the U3 actually add? The only possible benefit I see is the encryption, but since they're only used as dumb devices, that really won't make much difference here. Or am I again missing the blindingly obvious?
