Morning all, We've recently setup our "RMOne Laptop Trolley" BUT when you logon it switches on numlock, the numpad is classed as half of the keyboard ergo when you type you get half numbers ¬_¬ Does anyone have a quick solution to this? I've switched off numlock in the RM Management Console but this only does it for the Logon screen! So numlock comes right back again when you logon ;_; -Thanks in advance Rob Emery

Ahh sorry I didnt see your post until after I'd posted mine! Ive got that working on the 2K3 Server fine, but on the 2000 it comes up with: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>rsm eject /lf"SONY SDX-500C SCSI Sequential Device" Unable to parse arguments. C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator> I notice that the command also has fewer switches, Any idea how to eject the library on 2K? -Thanks Rob

Just the built in Microsoft Backup Program I Believe. I have checked the options but I dont recall seeing an option to eject when they are fininshed anywhere, unless I just missed it?

Hey all. I was wondering if anyone knows a way that I can schedule on our 2K and 2K3 servers to eject their backup tapes. We have one server (NT4!) that does it already, is there anything built into windows? or am I going to need a small program? Thanks in advance -Rob Emery

Just the standard MSI from php.net and then chucked on the extension dll's it needed.

Yeah moodle seems to of "chosen" to do that, I've tried changing the first part in config.php so that it uses '/' but then it says I have an error in my Config.php and to change '/' to '\'

aha! sounds promising, OK total n00b question coming now: is there a windows client/service or something? Google just keeps coming up with linux daemons and the only thing I can find from microsoft is the actual API for SNMP stuff. Am I missing something blatently obvious here?

So I take it there isn't anyform of standard version that works for most printers? Its totally dependent on the make of the printer. Another problem I have had is when an error has appeared on server1/2 and I go onto the interface for the print server itself, often the printer seems fine and the error is coming from the printspooler on windows rather than the printservers. I take it SNMP wouldn't catch this style of error? -Thanks for the response Rob

Howdy all I was wondering how/if people know when their servers are having a printer error, is there someway of sending an admin alert when the fated dialog appears? (screenshot attached) It'd be ok if I was sat infront of the 2 servers all day! At the moment I just use the Print Management tool from the server 2003 Admin tools pack and look for any that have had the same job for a while. Surely there must be a way I can get it to send a message or something to me?!? Rob

Have you installed MMC 3 on any machine and then opened that snap-in? I know I've had trouble when its updated a snapin to MMC3 and then I've opened the same one on the original MMC2 you get with XP & 2000 Server.

"SmartCache 2" I dont know if theres any more accurate version numbers than that anywhere on it. We got it in 2003 but I've only just showed the "head" Tech how to enable filtering on it. http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com sometimes got "blocked" by it, but it seems incredibly intermittent and seems to block more things that it shouldn't than things that it should :| Like yesterday I noticed it blocked: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breasts for a student, but today it'll let you through fine! If I could just switch it off and just do the URL & search term filtering then I'd be a happy man.

Aye maybe so, even so, is there a way to turn off the so called "intelligent" content filter without bypassing the smartcache entirely? it never seems to block anything that it should do :|

I'm in a pickle here! Does anyone know how to turn off the RM SmartCache's Content filtering without switching off the URL filter lists?!? its blocking a students access to http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=our+country%27s+good+workshops+royal+court+theatre&meta= but i've allowed all the searchterms and that URL specifically and the content filter STILL blocks it. help someone please!

WELL! off goes that theory, seeing as you can't use taskkill and tasklist to end tasks remotely on a station when its running logoff scripts just takes ages then spits out with something about needing windows XP or higher (Which they are!!)
