Hey, my bosses Job is up for grabs (I'm not going for it because I'm off elsewhere myself). Sadly we use RM Hopefully someone with some actual SKILL and Knowledge will be able to whip this place into shape. It really needs it. Link to more info: Staffordshire County Council Vacancies Rob

Its nothing sensitive, it doesn't really NEED to be done, its just to keep it looking 'simple' for the IT Coordinator when I show them
-
To be honest with you theres nowt TO bookmark on the intranet, but this way it just keeps it looking a bit tidier. Cheers for that -Rob

Good Morning all, I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to make it so that the address bar doesn't contain like: "http://intranet/Calendar.asp" it just shows "http://intranet" regardless of what page you're on. Thanks Rob

So, the overall opinion of the edugeek community is that I can roll this out for our second computer room and not encounter any legal trouble?

Morning all, Friday at last (thank god!) Just wondering if anyone happens to know if Visual Studio 2005 Express (the free editions) are licenced for use in schools/colleges etc or would we have to purchase the standard editions? Thanks Rob

I have the exact same problem with that printer, I've not found a solution for it yet. I just tell the students/staff to click the button multiple times. I was thinking it might be (the ever so wonderful 8O) RM interferring or something. Cheers Mint

ahh thats much better though, 2000 just ignores newlines inside cells and concatenates one line to the next :| at least 2003 is a bit more sensible Cheers for that

Hey All I don't suppose anyone knows how office 2003 tab delimits its tables if you pasted them into notepad etc? Office 2000 smegs them up something awful, like so: PERIOD 1 PERIOD 2 PERIOD 3 PERIOD 4 PERIOD 5 Mrs VernonY12 ArtB3 to B2 Mrs VernonY12 ArtB3 to B2 Mrs VernonY12 ArtB3 to B2 Miss BoothY13 SociologyB3 to G17 so it totally breaks if theres a newline inside the cell itself. Does Office 2003 have this problem too? Thanks
-
Ok, but what about Office 97,2k,XP and Oo.org? Opens all my office 2000 documents fine. AND It doesn't automatically convert them to the new format (which is good) you have to conciously make the decision to convert them.

I have to say, I'm normally pretty skeptical about software upgrades and the like, but I do quite like this. The only downside for me is the speed factor :| does feel a bit choppy every now and again. But the new GUI is great, although personally I would of had a "custom" menu tab thing as well. So I could put the ones I use the most on there for easy access. Shame its so slow!

Morning, Has it always done this? Or is it a new development? If its new have you added any new drivers etc recently? Mint

What have I started? Everybody getting friday tensions out their systems? I'm thinking I might have to accept defeat on this one and just accept that Moodle can't be integrated into SIMS without spending as much as buying something crap (aka Kaleidos). Shame though Have a good weekend everyone Mint

F*CK ME! seems a bit steep that does. Mint

Who knows, there must be a reason why noone has made one yet. The problem with dumping it out, is I'd need to write to the database as well. Cheers
-
hmm maybe, I'll have to check the licencing agreements etc. I hate Capita they're just so absolutely CRAP its unbelievable
-
Ah, like that is it :/ There has to be someone who's put in the work to integrate it in some way. Isnt SIMS just running off an SQL server on the admin server? so it cant be that hard to integrate it can it........
-
Nice easy topic for a friday now. The ICT Coordinator has mentioned to me about getting a VLE up and running BUT has mentioned that the RM effort (Kaleidos is it?) integrates itself with SIMS etc for merits, test scores etc etc. I was wondering if anyone has made a module or anything for Moodle that would provide this functionality. I'm really trying to avoid even more RM Crap on this system ;_; Cheers Mint

Yep thats what it is here :| All machines except mine that is. Theres 2 machines here that you can change the resolution on, through "Analog Display" on the rightclick menu of the desktop that the NVIDIA graphics drivers added. Just something that RM haven't thought about basically. My NM seems incredibly resistant to change, I think he's scared I'm going to foul everything up (I'm scared too! ;_

Aye I'd probably just push out Multires in that situation. Its the "going back to 800x600" thats the annoying part. Still I'm not the boss and must just do as I'm told. Mint

RM hides that icon, and even when you set the option NOT to hide it, it still does! Stupid thing that is fixed by nice reg entry int ype manager pm if want it.. As for loggoff scripts you can do loggoff scripts as rm uses logoff vb script you will need to go to gpo and do big of digger can look location up for you if need it.. russ Yeah I'll take both if you can russ *PM's* We set the resolution to 1024x768 in the workstation build area. Why on earth would he want it to go back to 800x600. I would stick to one res or the other. The less logon scripts you have the better as there is less to fault diagnose. No idea to be honest, He's quite old etc but he's the boss at the end of the day. cheers for the input guys Mint

-
yeah could do, not an ideal solution but a solution non-the-less. I'll keep it on the backburner
-
this is what I was thinking, but I'm not sure if RM will let you do logoff scripts. Not seen the option anywhere :S

Hey all, I was thinking about putting multires onto our RM CC3 "system" so the students can have a bit more comfort with their work (I know if I was stuck at 800x600 I'd die!). The only problem seems to be that the NM wants it to set the resolution back to 800x600 when users log back off again. Does anyone know of any program that does that? Thanks Mint
