As an update to my previous post: Yep. Gone for us now, too. Please accept my apologies for doubting your knowledge @Alfred_Bester. Oh dear, Microsoft. What HAVE you done?! Perhaps if enough people petition them, they may bring it back in a Windows 10 Start Menu kinda fashion. Edit: Just tested the Bing image search through Word. Typed in 'sausage' and was presented with some fine examples of culinary delights, until I scrolled down a little further and saw a pair of barely covered breasts with a sausage between them.

Yo, @mac_shinobi! Where were you hiding yourself last Madvent?

10 Dec 14 for me.

...as long as they are careful about copyright.

Good point. I'll check on one of the office machines here that is still using 2010 and report back.

Think this must just be your system. Works fine here. As @Steve21 said, Insert - Online Pictures, type what you're searching for in the Office.com Clip Art box and off you go.

Didn't use one for ages, but one of the kids bought me a matching mouse mat and coaster set (and a mug... but no mouse), so now I do again. As @synaesthesia says, at least it means I have a space on my desk for my mouse!

Edugeek is at war with Eastasia. Edugeek has always been at war with Eastasia. Any reports to the contrary are mistaken.

Pay as you Go - Limit calls + texts to a select group of numbers
StevieM replied to chris_uk's topic in General Chat
There'll be whitelisting apps that can limit the incoming calls to specific numbers, but whether the same would apply to outgoing calls is another matter. I assume the phone is intended to be used only to phone family members. If in the past they've spent all their credit (or run up a huge bill on a contract phone!), I would suggest giving her an old brick so she wouldn't want to get it out in front of her mates. -
I blame North Korea!

Cracking on with clearing out the old PCs ready for the new install so won't be around much this afternoon. Have a Very(PC) Merry Christmas, y'all, and I'll leave the rest to Tiny Tim.

Came in to find a bag of goodies from one of the Year 3 teachers on my desk. Cards now total 10 and I also received some Very nice beer from Sheffield (geddit?). Edit: 11 cards - a Year 5 girl has just been in with another one.

What everyone needs to do is buy lots of lovely computers from @VeryPC, so they can afford to hire more limbs of marketing (and sales). That way, @VeryPC Al, @VeryPC_Colin_M and @VeryPC_Will can spend more time on the important things like Madvent and 'tober. PS It can't be the last one today. I'm in at least Monday of next week setting up our 34 lovely new Broadleaf Access Pirate PCs.

So members of staff who never receive anything don't feel hard done by. Oh... wait...

Just thought of another of my favourite Christmas songs way back in my childhood...

And STILL no sign of @Gonk's theme tune! Come on, fella. Don't fail us now!
-
No! No, they're not! I once stayed up until 4.30am and STILL couldn't destroy the sidewinder thingy!

Now THAT Die Hard would be worth paying the £2.49 for!

Yaaaayyyyy!!!!! I'm so glad I'm not the only one (although I bet do it in fewer attempts than I did!)

Just given out cards and a little box of chocs to my 22 Year 6 'Young Leaders' who do a lunchtime play club with our Year 3s. The excitement on their faces when they found out they were all getting a gift was well worth the £1 each I spent on them. :warmandfuzzy: As for staff, I only ever buy a Secret Santa card and gift but we didn't do it this year.

In the off-chance that we do bump into each other in some distant corner of the galaxy. StevieM => Shigpit

Squadron! That needs to become the official collective noun for elves.

I realised last night that I'd never got around to playing the gamma version at all so I thought I'd fire it up... only it spent the next hour syncing files, usually at <0.5Mbps, and it was still only half-way through. I gave up and went to bed in the end. It's the school play tonight, so I'll start downloading it before I come back to school and it may just about be ready when I get home again. I'll give it a good go over Christmas and hopefully I'll start to get a bit better at it.

Beer!!! How did you know???!!! Thanks, guys. You rock!

SMART Website - huge and slow, for a simple website
StevieM replied to localzuk's topic in General Chat
I doubt they'll bother. I pointed them in the direction of this site during the initial Notebook Advantage discussion and answer came there none.
