Hi, we have a couple of laptops designated for Exams, on them I have disabled everything but wordpad. (I don't use MS office as I was unable to completely disable word checking) the problem I am having is that one of our pupils requires the background colour to be different otherwise he struggles to read from it. To my knowledge wordpad dose not have a function to change the background colour. Is there a way to sufficiently stop all word proofing in Microsoft office? as that would fix my problem.

Hi, I am trying to setup SSO and I have followed the video tutorial : https://hap.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=Kerberos%20Setup&referringTitle=Videos I have never worked with Kerberos or NTLM before so I have probably made a really simple mistake somewhere as I cannot get it working at all! When I go to the HAP page it does not auto log in. Any help will be appreciated. 10.46.16.5 is a domain controller and we are working on the 255.255.240.0 subnet (Which is /20 if im correct). Just spoke to the deputy head about this, he seems to agree that it is down will be down to the staff to make sure their board is of. Also the option for an extended display is still available to staff who want it. Thanks for the help/replies, Adam

Firstly, i'm unsure if this is in the right section so apologies if it is not! We are soon moving over to SIMS MIS system and our deputy head is concerned about confidential information showing up on the smartboard when a member of staff launches SIMS to take their register (supposedly student issues and such show up on the front page of it) We are currently using a mirrored display on all of our smart boards (I have recommenced using a extended display but they don't like it.) The only other option we have that I can think of is that some of our smartboards have a freeze screen function - but the problem with that, is that not all of our projectors provide that function. What do you guys do to get around this?

The school, not sure where the money is coming from. I imagine it will be from pupil premium.

Hi, I'm not sure if this is under the right topic... I have been asked to find a tablet/laptop for a student to use, this is going to be used at both school and home. I am not worried about it joining the domain as they can upload their work via home access plus using the school wifi. We would like a keyboard with it so I am What I had in mind was a surface 1 or 2, I know there are alternatives but I don't know much about them. Can anyone recommend a device? We are currently with Cunninghams, we do have problems with having to reset the reval machine all the time and the bio-metrics are always playing up (partly because the canteen only scans them once in year 7...) Also our canteen staff are a bit heavy handed with the touchscreens. Apart from that its not too bad. Although if the canteen got a chance I think they would happily go back to dealing with cash. Also we have been quoted just under £600 to upgrade our system from xp to 7. Adam

We don't use roaming profiles at all. We have the same situation where staff are 1:1 with the computer they use.

We recently installed BYOD on our network and most of our switches are only L2 and some of them are getting pretty old!

I couldn't get along with iTalc it was far too temperamental.

Any other idea?

Another +1 for HAP - I was pretty clueless when I started to set it up, but there is plenty of help and the documentation is sufficient.

The administrative login that we use for General use (setting up the machines) logs on straight away. My personal administrative logon is just as slow as a normal user logging on.

The profile sizes are about 22mb on creation. It is also a Wired connection. I have already tried the update but It has not made a difference. Thanks for the reply's. Adam

Hi, We are currently experiencing slow first logins with our W7 machines (XP are pretty fast) the login usually tend to be 2 minutes or more. Once the user has loged in once there login is only about 10-20 seconds. If I delete the local profile the problem will occur again. I have tried a variety of things to try and find the source of the problem. I have tried stopping all GPO and any start up scripts to one of the accounts but the issue still occurs. It even happens with my personal administrator account on the network. But it dose not happen with your Main network administrator account which we use to set up the machines. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Cheers, Adam

Hello, I am looking for a way to display a Public exchange calendar on my Joomla Website. Currently I can not find a Joomla app to directly access exchange Calendar. My current theory is to do the following... Synchronize my Exchange Calendar data with Google Calendar https://code.google.com/p/google-calendar-connectors/wiki/SyncServiceGuide Once this is completed I plan to use a Calendar App such as Gcalendar to access the information from Google. My question is, is this possible, if so has anyone else had any luck with trying this? Cheers, Adam

Its a few months back since I fixed it. I think I applied it to my client first and there was no change so I tried it on the server and it kicked into action. But as I said it was a while back since it did it!

I only ever had the issue with IE10, After applying the hot-fix to my server I had no problems.
