hmm, i never use the isp provided email i always use seperate ones. why would you want a sky gmail acount tied to your sky account when you can have a gmail account you can keep even if you changed isp?

not in the uk no. backwards third world countries like america have plenty of dial up modems in rural areas.

run wireshark on the mail server and set the filter to something like ip.dst == 10.10.10.10 && tcp.port ==25 obviously change the ip to the mail server's ip address. bear in mind you could drop the connections at the firewall rather than the smtp receiver if you want, if you drop it at the firewall the sender won't know why might be what you want.

i've just switched to Linux Mint on the desktop this morning (already running it on my laptop) as vmware workstation wouldn't run because it needed to compile some modules and needed the kernel headers which it couldn't find. vmware just loaded fine on Mint? I presume the neccessary modules are bundled with Mint? In the same way vmware tools come bundled with a lot of distro's now days. tbh vmware workstation and chrome installed and I'm happy. oh and remmina. so i suppose all i use it for is to run windows vm's and remote control windows servers and ssh linux servers

unfortunately we are stuck on windows xp due to legacy software so the default browser is ie8 we also have chrome installed, but until we can upgrade to windows 7 we can't use ie9 or ie10

Worth talking to smoothwall, although users/customers can whitelist your content it may be worth working with smoothwall as they could probably make the process easier for by controlling how it get categorized.

whats everyone using? using mailcleaner at the moment, it seems to catch most of the spam (75%-80%) but passes clearly virus infected files, I'm going to setup another vm running windows as a virus scanner stage as clamav doesn't seem to pick up many viruses. whats everyone else using>

How effective is clamav ui'm running mailcleaner and it seems to get about 75% of spam, but a lot of exe's seem to slip through, uploading to an online scanner instantly flags them as malware/virus clamav doesn't detect them and doesn't from the command line, i'm using the sanesecurity updates, hmmm thinking I'll keep mailcleaner for spam and insert a windows smtp gateway between it and exchange with windows virus scanners ???? thoughts please? I know its filtery based but i couldn't decided between this forum or the filtering /tinternet one

install updates and reboots fixed it for me. don't install them unless you want to reboot straight away, i installed them and then the box stopped passing traffic at all, a reboot cured all fine but be aware if the box is live and you can't afford 5 minutes off

I need to open a mailbox in Outlook 2010 its not in the GAL so the name won't resolve in the outlook configuration. i can open the mailbox fine in OWA, but i need to open it in Outlook. Its my mailbox for people to send spam to be analysed to and I need a MAPI profile working so i can extract the messages to feed through the spam analyser so it can update its database.
