  1. Has anyone got this working? I'm trying to install esxi 4.1 over the network? DHCP / TFTPd / apache2 running on SUSE 12.2 PXE boots but complains the image is corrupt i have made the image.tgz as per instructions and the image.tgz does have the bz2 inside it named correctly for the esxi version ERROR --> Installation operation failed! The installation operation has encountered a fatal error: Unable to find system image to install. This is due to the image not being mounted correctly or the CD-ROM not being supported.

  5. i would be tempted to try the disks in another machine, i agree the disks probably are fubar or getting there. i've had real success with TestDisk - CGSecurity before, i think its included on the main rescue iso's/
  6. ended up modifying the sample from libsamplerate loading the snd file with libsndfile, writing to stdout and pipeing that aplay from alsautils
  7. setup a dummy google account and login with that.
  8. any one piped wave files directly to a sound card? obviously the header would have to go and it would have to bit the correct bits per sample, channel count and sample rate, interleaved or not. but has one done it, can it be done?

  12. + Even if you have no bottle necks else where just because thats all you are using today doesn't mean its all you will use in a year or two or three and as the last set of switches stuck around for 8 years, i certainly don't want to be running on a 1gb backbone in 7.5 years time.

  14. i've got hydra on backtrack, that seems to do the cracking i'm just wondering now if i can get either john or another program to generate a password list based on some words and rules i specify

  16. john the ripper was the program i was thinking of with mangling rules but I think it only works on hashes? i want to brute attack the ssh login over the network
  17. Hi Any good tools for attempting to find ssh password? I know roughly what the root password is i.e. is either 1 of 2 words and then there are some numbers but not sure. I can't do single user mode as some dimwit has unplugged the ILO switch and i need to do this before people are in monday. any ideas on tools?

  19. dual 10gbe here. management / vmotion is still on the 1gb for no other reason than we haven't moved it yet. will get removed this easter.
  20. I'm not in the wrong job mate. Plenty of people who are though. I wouldn't entertain buying something that cheap, plenty of people who would though as they can't see past the next 5 minutes.
