I thought it might be a ZX80. I remember throwing one away in frustration at how poor the keyboard was and the general uselessness compared to almost any other computer! But I suppose they were cheap in comparison.

TBF it's a bit easier to fix a broken fibre on land, although that doesn't always stop openreach taking ages.But it does surprise me there's no backup satellite link. I bet radio ham operators are busy there!

Started watching Babylon Berlin season 4 on now TV (sky). It reminded me how great the first 3 were. Set in 1920/30's Berlin with a troubled cop and female detective. All the madness, violence, decadence and style of the times and superbly filmed. I've read the books it was based on which were pretty good too.

Look out for manhole covers, slippy road surfaces, those annoying metal studs by crossings etc. The only time I dropped my old Triumph Bonnie was on a wet ironwork. Luckily no damage to me or bike as it was barely walking pace but a good lesson learned!

Had to run the heating this morning for the first time this year as it was quite unpleasant - lounge was 13 degrees. I found setting the boiler c/h temp to 45 has saved a fair amount of oil and unless it's wet, windy and below about 5 degs the house is warm enough. Luckily Mrs. SH and I both don't like it too hot, but I admit to a hot water bottle on a cold evening!

Just finished reading "Spies in the sky" by Taylor Downing. Really interesting book about WW2 aerial reconnaissance. By the usual British mixture of bumbling, luck and skill a massive operation to photograph occupied territories was built up by the end of the war. Some great stories of the pilots who risked everything for a photograph, but also the thousands of men and women who noticed tiny but important details from blurry images.

His best friend's are Bill and Ben (you have to be of a certain age to get that one)

During the heatwave our pond almost dried up but we've refilled it with rainwater and put a solar powered oxygenator in which has revived it. Here is a greenfinch with 2 young ones having a drink. Trail cam pic is not brilliant but good enough.

Looks like an amazing display. I went to RSPB Ham Wall in Somerset a few years to see the starling murmuration. Quite something.to see all those bird flying about together.

I don't think it's that sort of hemp! It's also known as holy rope so presumably can be used for fibres - maybe those cords monks tie round their waists!

We have a plant called hemp agrimony flowering in the garden which is attracting every flying thing there is! Butterflies, bees, other, hoverflies and something I hadn't seen before - a hornet mimic hoverfly. We do get the odd hornet looking for things eat too, and in the evening sometimes a bat picking off insects attracted by the scent.
