    RDS Server 2019

    Hi, Just looking to deploy server 2019 RDS via the add roles and features. I have created a new Server 2019 VM. This is not on a domain controller. Has anyone else had any issues installing RDS? The firewall is currently disabled. I am getting an error in the event viewer: update remote-desktop-services of package remote desktop services role failed to be turned on server 2019 Thanks in advance

    Hi Can anyone recommend a self service password reset for students as we use a number of different systems that link back to our local AD? This would have to be web based we currently sync our local AD to Office365 so users have the same password for local AD and office365 account? Thanks in advance
  8. Hi, I need to make sure that users are unable to delete the deleted items if that makes sense? What does everyone set the litigation days to? Can you do this is bulk? Is the litigation hold the correct way to do this? Thanks
  9. Hi, Thanks for the reply. I have been setting up folder redirection however I could not get this to work so I right clicked on the users home directory and selected the security and advanced. I made the user the owner of the home folder. This resolved the folder redirection however administrators are not able to access the folder. Would the script that you provided work? Thanks again for your help.
  10. Thanks for all the help. If I modify the AD field this wont give them ownership of the home directory? This is for folder redirection windows 10. I have changed the permissions on a couple of users and it fixes the folder redirection. Thanks
  11. Hi, I need to change permissions on multiple user home folders to work with windows 10 folder redirection. I need to make the students owners of the home drives however how can I do this in bulk and still allow administrator access to the folders? Thank you for your help.

I have changed one students home drive folder permissions as the owner, and this has worked as expected however how do I change all the home areas to make the students owners and access for administrators and teachers security group in bulk?   14. Hi, I have setup folder re-direction however when users login the My Pictures is redirected and Videos however the documents does not re-direct and the properties are pointing to the c:users\username. Thanks for any help...
  15. Hi Nicholas, Thanks for the reply. So its in their appdata folder in the user profile on the local machine. Its storing the files in the network shortcut so the files are visible in the network shortcut This PC if that makes sense? I have disabled the quick access with reg files so the users cant see them. Any other ideas or any gpo you think I have missed? Thanks again
  16. Hi, Students are able to save to This PC, the students are using local profiles c:\Username with redirection enabled. I have enable GPO below Prevent users from adding files to the root of their Users Files folder". Hide these specified drives in My Computer Restrict A,B,C and D drives only Prevent access to drives from My Computer Restrict A,B,C and D drives only When I look at the properties of the file saved its in there local user profile c:\username\filename Any help to solve this would be excellent.   17. Hi Just deploying windows 10 and students are able to save in the user profile. I want everything redirecting to the My documents on the server. I have enabled folder redirection (I think correctly) Has anyone had this same issue? I think it might be to do with quick access? Thanks
  18. Hi, I have both the options enabled in GPO however it will still let the users save to c:\users\username. Have I missed something? Thanks
  19. Hi, So I have redirected the documents folder however they are able to save under This PC with the network locations. When I look at the properties its in c:\Users\username\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Network Shortcuts ? They should now be able to save in that folder and want this to re-direct to the documents home folder Thanks
  20. Hi I have re-directed the documents etc to the home drives however students have the option to save to the local user account appdata. Can I restrict this so it will only go the the documents folder? I have not configured the AppData(roaming) properties yet? Thanks for your help

  24. Hi Just setting up folder redirection and it is working however the students can create files and folders. I do not want users creating files and folders on the desktop. Do I need to change any permissions on the share I have created? Thanks
