Sounds really interesting Katy, I assume you'll be doing a blog showing us all how to administrate it?
-
That makes a massive difference! Fair enough then.

Is your original post accurate? The order was placed in March 20?
-
His post says he ordered them in March 20. Over a year ago. You seem to have missed this.

I’d be naming and shaming that supplier. That’s honestly breathtaking. Surely your contract provided for a way to rescind it for nonperformance?
-
To be fair I haven't found this at all. Mac OS nags like crazy if you don't eject but I've done all sorts over the years and never had any data corruption.

Arbor can provision Google workspace staff & pupil accounts - :-)

So for that I'd still say Salamander would be cheaper and do more. -
Let them that haven't carved their first love's name into school property cast the first stone...

You can manage the domain yourself through Nominet and CloudFlare do DNS. So ask the LA to transfer the domain to your Nominet account or send Nominet a letter signed by the head asking for the transfer. Then in the Nominet control panel point the domain to the 2 CloudFlare DNS hosts they give you and set all your DNS entries on CloudFlare. No cost to any of this.

Sure, if you're already paying for Arbor and it's included in your pack. My comments related to the post earlier that referenced £1 per student. Their own page says: Our integration with Google for Education can be purchased as a standalone feature and isn't included by default in our packages. To discuss your upgrade options, get in contact at [email protected]. EDIT So looking at it, the free version from Arbor only syncs staff and students in terms of creating accounts, it doesn't then sync for Google Classroom. It looks like the Google Classroom functionality is a paid for option. -
There's no release date officially announced. A leaked date supposedly said October 20th but who knows when it'll hit VLSC at this point.

How far away is the next one as this just doesn't seem right? -
They're all using their personal mobile.

Windows will know what kind of device it is running on, it will sample all of the hardware and the device will itself tell the OS what kind of device it is even this aside. Could you spoof it? Probably.
-
Windows would be able to tell if it's on a laptop, there's a million different ways it will identify as a laptop - CPU version, power management and battery information etc. are all exposed to the OS.

Apart from the confusing messaging on TPM requirements and the fairly ridiculous requirements to even run Windows 11... We've all now got until October 14th 2025 to ensure all our PCs are 8th gen CPU or higher, they may or may not need a TPM etc etc. These requirements will obviously change as enterprise customers react and complain but once again MS have put themselves in the ridiculous position of having to change announced requirements instead of getting them right in the first place.

Ok, interesting on the use of TVs, I'm going to reconsider this then.
-
Their requirements for Windows 11 are quite insane, they're going to be walking these back quite significantly.

Hi all, just wondered if anyone had had an 75inch non-interactive screens fitted recently. We're looking at putting them into some meeting rooms that will see pretty heavy use so wanted to stay away from consumer-grade TVs. Just wondering what models people were happy with and indicative prices paid.

It’s not the issue you think it is. We’ve had zero complaints.
