Ive setup Intune avec Autopilot for OOBE so we can send out laptops to staff and deploy apps remotely via company portal Everything works as it should.... apart from the wired connection onsite.... before I go ahead with full scale deployment Can anyone shed some light as to why the NIC isnt picking up my college LAN, instead i get the "unidentified network"
  2. Hi, We have 2 win 2003 r2 enterprise servers (dns/dhcp) Aim is to change these to win server 2008 r2 enterprise Could someone point out any issues I might encounter with GPO migration? Or will eveything work as is? Also do I dcpromo to introduce the new servers into the environment? or DO I DCPROMO to downgrade one server before introducing the new one. Why I ask above is because I WANT to keep the ip address of the new servers same as the old as well as the names of the servers? Any Ideas?

  11. lol would love to know your rationale...
  12. Bit random... I was approached by SLT and asked to give admin level rights (as in admin password to one designated memeber of staff) so in case when I am not onsite or if I die all of a sudden then they have a way of gaining access to the network? Whats your view on this? Would you? If Yes? why? If No? Why?
  13. There is a program out there specifically for USB's.....used it couple of years ago! PC which the usb is plugged into acts as server and the second as a client.... both require software install I think its this one....trial version? USB over Network - share USB devices over Ethernet - Overview
  14. There is no easy solution to this witch... I am in the same scenario as yourself..... I am currently trialing Google Apps / Office 365 sharing files with others is easy... as long as everything is uptodate... Both can be accessed via mobile devices....which my users want! Allowing access from home via TMG Keep us posted on this....
  15. You can switch on the hotspot option on Iphone 4s and 5.... so tethering should not be an issue... walk into any mobile phone shop in the locality and they will chop ur sim for you!.... or you can use one of the mifi devices?... give it a whirl.... dont give up!
  16. Many thanks for your prompt reply guys! I have been prepping the new servers and also creating relevant shares and also setting the relevant rights I have one FINAL GLITCH! The windows START bar is being pulled from a server which is running Windows Server 2000...... this is referenced in the GPO for all staff... If I take down this Windows 2000 server, how do I replace the start bar?..... or do I just point it to another server?... I dont know what to do here! Does the above even make any sense to anyone?
