Hello. I would like to run something by you all and get some opinions about an issue which has been the cause of some work place stress. At work we have been forced to go on a mandatory course (related to my job) and additionally they expect us to complete all the work in our own time. This to me sounds ridiculous as I believe my own time is my own time. And for my place of employment to force this upon me is out of order. My stand on this has brought me negative feedback in performance meetings and I am starting to feel bad about it. My question is, am I in the wrong? Can they do this? Do I have any say in how I spend my spare time or do I just have to accept that out of work I have to work on this course. Any comments welcome. I am thinking of taking this up with my HR department but I am sure this will bring me more negative feedback. Please help!

When I first got my HTC Desire before I had even turned it on I had the guide how to root it handy. I don't really like how the phone arrives with apps that you don't particularly want draining your resources all day long and standard users been unable to remove them and been locked to certain networks. I did want to enjoy the full experience of having a phone which I could customise how ever I wanted. I did like trying all the different roms available, seeing how each release by different developers speeded up the the phone and increased battery life. Also I liked checking all the tweaks and seeing the different things that were possible to do with a phone. Some of the android apps require a rooted device to work properly. Another benefit of having a rooted device is having the ability to be able to do full phone image backup/restore, similar to how imaging a pc works. Later after that I got a HTC One X and flashed a custom rom the same day. I couldn't imagine life with out root! And I love been able to customise my phone to the full extent. There is a lot of benefits to having a roooted device, more than I have listed, but I have always been prepared of the possibility of bricking my phone. Fortunately it hasn't happend yet.

Hello. I have a Autounattend.xml that I can not seem to get working. I have put this on the root of a bootable windows 7 x64 drive it does not pick it up. Hello. I have found that sdm does not work properly with java 1.7 to make it work i had to use 1.6 I do have another question about my ipconfig/all on the client showing my public dns server. On my old netgear this used to show as 192.168.0.1 My home internet talktalk gives out the current dns servers automatically to the router. On the cisco they are set static so if they changed my internet wouldn't work. Can this be changed to how it was on my netgear? Thanks. If i was in this situation, first I would try slim drivers, maybe it will find an update or missing driver that will solve your issue. https://www.slimwareutilities.com/slimdrivers.php secondly, or maybe even firstly i would go to the acer download site and check you have everyting. Acer | Download There is also a micrsoft fix for missing cd drive, i would suggest that you look it over. Your CD drive or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs last thing to suggest is i wouldnt get an acer Good luck!

Hello. I have made some changes and now I have internet connectivity. I think it was changing dns-server 62.24.199.13 this is my isp's dns server.. When I do an ipconfig/all on my client it shows the isp's dns server. On my netgear i always had it show 192.168.0.1 I have made some changes to the NAT also. I still have an issue with sdm 2.5 on windows 8 x64, when i click deliver, nothing happens. it just sits there, not sure if this is an issue with the OS or if something is broken. Hello. My pc's get an Ip address but can't access the internet. I suspect it has something to do with dns-server 192.168.0.1 So the computers on my network get the IP address of the router for dns but im lost from there.

Find the universal print drivers for that model of printer that are compatible with xp x86/x64 vista x86 x64 win 7 x86 x64, then on the print server add the same printer again (not touching the original one) using the universal driver/ share it and see if it helps.

I use altiris deployment solution, it has a driver database which I always pre add drivers prior to deployment. There are some situations where a missing driver/update utility comes in handy and takes out all the manual work of finding device id's googling it. Also the driver update facility is very handy to update existing drivers to the latest versions. I already have a tool that does the job, I was just thought it was worth checking if anyone had a free update utility that updates/replaces all drivers at once.

Thanks for the replys. So far slimdrivers seems like the best free version. Thanks for the suggestion arthur but after looking at that it would take a while to setup rather than just installing a piece of software. is a bit more effort than i was planning on doing. There are other driver updater/missing that do the same job like drivermax, driver detective, but these require an account creating and then ask u to pay. There has too be a free driver updater that will automatically scan ur pc then install/update all that are missing. I do google search the device id's but it would be nicer to have a free piece of software to do all that for me.

Even when a pc is shut down and turned off it will still use standby power, between 1 and 4 watts. Older pc's are worse. I think I think this depends on the motherboard. Sleep will normally use about 6 or 7 watts. On a side note anyone looking to save power at home. Hello. I have been searching for a free driver update utility that will recognize missing drivers and update existing drivers. I currently use SlimDrivers but this application isn't all that great for missing drivers. Just at updating already installed drivers. Can someone recommend an application that is free and will update missing, out of date drivers. Thanks.
