About Mark_Atkins1

  1. We don't have any of that because we are the LA hosting databases on behalf of schools. Server is managed by CAPITA Ramesys and is specifically for hosting these SIMS databases. We have logged a ticket with them to resolve it as this only appears to have happened this week. Mark
  2. Just as a note to this, we have had this again this week and after a CAPITA remote session onto our server found that the clock on the server was 7 minutes slow. Apparently if the clock is more than 5 minutes out then the service stops working. Hope this helps someone!! Mark
  3. Have you tried to re-start the SIMS Services Manager service even though it says it is still running? This happens to us fairly regularly and re-starting this service seems to solve the problem. Hope this helps Mark
  4. Hi Chris, You can run the Promotion routine again if you have another student that you need to move to the next academic year. When you run through this routine just make sure that you don't have the overwrite boxes checked as you don't want to overwrite the promotion that you have already done previously. This will then allow you to promote this one extra student. Hope this helps Mark
  5. Once you have your new DMS, log into SIMS and import the pre-defined reports to give you your basic structure in your new DocStorage folder. Once this is done if you had a DocStorage folder setup elsewhere, copy all of the folders and paste to your new location to ensure that all your previous custom reports and documents are moved to the new location. Hope this helps, Mark
  6. If you haven't got SOLUS3 you could always script SIMSApplicationSetup.exe from the Setups folder to run as part of your group policy when the machines start up using an account that has permission to overwrite the files in the SIMS .Net folder as I assume you have resolved this by doing this process manually.
  7. Re-name your SIMS .Net folder on the C: drive to "SIMS .Net Old" and then run SIMSApplicationSetup.exe from your Setups folder. This should resolve this problem. Mark
  8. You can do this via Tools | Setups | User Defined Fields by selecting Person from the Data Domain drop-down as you would for a student but there is a tick box for Employee Details. Hope this helps. Mark
  9. Do they have permissions to Assessment?
  10. It sounds to me like the Re-Index patch (14265) you have is the old one that was availble before the SIMS build moved from 3.61.*** to 3.62.*** which is why DBUpgrade is saying there are no valid files for you to run. See if you can get the updated one, it may be a new patch number now. I do have a copy of patch 14265 but this also is only for versions up to 3.61.999. Mark
  11. Where you have the 2 subjects with the same name in Tools | Setups | Subjects, you will need to change one of the names. I would assume that only one of these is current and would therefore suggest changing the name of the subject that is no longer in use to "Geology - Old" or something similar. Hope this helps Mark
  12. Hi Damien, I have just checked this and when creating Alternative Curriculum and sending over to SQL the new lessons are always highlighted in orange and hovering the mouse over them they do say they are currently unlinked. Continue with the wizard to send this over to SIMS .Net and you will be able to select these classes via the Curriculum Assignment by Scheme screen. Hope this helps. Mark
  13. Hi Tesla, This could be down to permissions on the folder specified in the SIMSDirectory line of the workstation's SIMS.ini. We had this a while ago with one of our schools where the users did not have permission to this shared area. Hope this helps, Mark
  14. You can also use the SetSIMSBackupFolder.exe from the SIMS Setups folder but you have to run this in cmd
  15. Sounds like your SIMS Discover Group Syncronisation Service has stopped on the server. Start this up and your transfers should then run as expected.
