Background: roaming profiles, Server 2003, XP Pro clients. Start menu on one PC in a classroom is showing limited entries - like 3 - in the Start Menu's All Programs list. As such, people are complaining about no Word, PowerPoint, etc. In the server copy of a profile, the Start Menu looks fine, so it must be getting over-ridden by something specific to that PC. Is it the Default User or All Users accounts in Docs & Settings folder perhaps? Something screwy is up. Last ditch solution would of course be a reformat and reinstall, but i'd rather find out what's broken it. Ta.

That'd be the obvious one! The printer has to be turned on (can be on but logged off) to serve the printer to the network.

Some colleges may let you in regardless, so don't worry too much. I know for definite that if you're keen and dedicated, they'll be less concerned about your previous qualifications. Obviously it'll make their decision easier if you have better grades, but it's not the end of the world buddy. Good luck, and let us know how you get on.

Also, if you want to appear more professional to a potential employer, a different email address than 'copperhaxor' may be in order omgwtfhax! And you could do a lot worse than type stuff up in Word (and let it do it's auto spelling and grammar check) then paste into other things. Like forums Good luck dude.

I heartily agree. The most dangerous thing on the roads are old people in my opinion. I see incident after incident and it's always some old bufoon at the wheel. My girlfriend was hit - on the motorway - by an old git who didn't check his blind spot and pulled out into her. Had the cheek to blame her and claim she came "zooming" up past him. Sorry, but she aint zooming anywhere in her 1 litre Corsa. I also watched a family jump out of the way of an old woman who reversed out of her parking spot into them. Then didn't hear the mum shouting at her! Bloody useless. The body and its senses start giving up after a while, and people need to realise that you can't be as aware as you used to be of the many hazards on and around the roads. I'd be demanding driving licenses be handed in after a certain age tbh.
