My experience with a Dell 3190 using that site was that I needed to enter the "System Number" from the device's BIOS password prompt, which is the Dell service tag plus a few extra characters, rather than just the service tag. Only then did a working password get generated.

Nope. Still seeing the regular one (with the red PDF label) when Edge is associated with PDFs. Edge is up to date (130.0.2849.46). Maybe try checking whether Edge needs a restart, and then cycle the default PDF handler app. Edit: Just seen this issue on a user's computer. Cycling the default handler restored the usaul icon.

Quite happy to have Edge on the system still (in fact we need it for a couple of legacy IE mode things) but it'd be nice if it just knew it's place a bit more. All glory to the Hypnotoad!

We've identified one or two potential uses for it (summarising stuff in Sheets), but even then the cost of just a single license to facilitate that doesn't seem super viable for us. I remember reading somewhere that changes don't take effect until after explorer has restarted, so if you're just trying after a gpupdate rather than after cycling your login, that might be it, too.

Initial download worked fine for me, too, but I've noticed that the in-app update fails a lot. I somewhat hopefully put it down to some CDN issue in the wake of the release.

These are my notes on it: So to force install Google Calendar on Android, you'd need to have Managed Google Play turned on for the user and then in Apps > Web and mobile apps add the Google Calendar Android app. Open the properties of the app in that list and under User access make sure that it's on for the user(s), and then under Settings you'll want to set the Access method to Force install for the desired OU(s) or Group(s). There's a separate option there also to allow users to uninstall it.

Yes, in that example, the Dance department staff would need to have credentials to sign into the 'Dance' camera Google account, adding it as an additional Chrome profile so that they can access Google Photos for the account. For MFA, you'd need to set up T-OTP and store the secret securely, so that multiple people can enter it I to their respective authenticator apps. They wouldn't be using their own individual accounts at all on the Android device.

They also want you to use Edge. Edge keeps pinning itself to student taskbars somehow. At this point I'm ready to give up, since at least Chrome is also being pinned to start and taskbar now.

Okay, I think I've cracked the custom Start and Taskbar thing using Group Policy. Ditching the XML method of configuring the taskbar, as this prevents users from modifying Start menu pins. For the Start menu, I'm copying a reference start2.bin file into place in the user's profile. In GPO, that's "User Configuration -> Preferences -> Windows Settings -> Files". The reference start2.bin file is stored in a suitable network share and copied down to "%LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.StartMenuExperienceHost_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\start2.bin". Use Apply once and do not reapply to allow end-user changes to the Start menu pins to persist. For the taskbar, export a reference setup from registry. From the reference user, export "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Taskband". Using a text editor, edit the reg file to extract only the value of the "Favourites" item. Strip off the "hex:" from the front of it and remove all commas, slashes and line breaks. In the GPO, in "User Configuration -> Preferences -> Windows Settings -> Registry" create the following: Kay path: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Taskband" Value name: Favourites Type: REG_BINARY Value: (the value previously extracted from the reference taskbar setup) Use Apply once and do not reapply to allow end-user changes to the taskbar to persist. If any taskbar pins are missing icons, you'll also need to grab the relevent shortcuts from the reference user profile from "%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar". Use "User Configuration -> Preferences -> Windows Settings -> Files" to copy down reference shortcuts from a suitable network share to "%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar" (e.g. for a Chrome shortcut, we'd need to use "%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar\Google Chrome.lnk" as the destination file).

I'd say that's a good shout. We've built a number of internal tools here where we're working off our own MIS data but via Wonde. Partly because still using SIMS means paying ESS for the privilege of hosting all their third-party integration services for them but only getting to use a crummy CLI reporting tool, rather than them providing an API, but also because the Wonde API makes things carry on working if the school does decide to switch MIS.

Yep, keep an eye on update compliance of client machines if you having tooling to do that. Being able to quickly see which Windows machines are two or more monthlies behind is useful for spotting potential problems tucked away around school.

You could go up a notch from Google Sheets and use AppSheet, storing your loans data in Google Sheets still but with some database logic layered on top (kinda like Access, but web-based). That's how we record our equipment loans, with the AppSheet app also making API calls to our actual inventory system (GLPI) to update records there automatically as required. Neither AppSheet nor GLPI get enough love around here, imho!

How about https://workspace.google.com/dashboard instead? It lists apps alphabetically, so Classroom will be fairly prominent. Although, if Classroom was missing from your users' waffle menus, then it might similarly not appear as expected there, either.

Also seeing a couple of odd Google Sites results when Googling "Google Classroom". At the foot of those pages is "This site has absolutely not connection to Google, LLC", so I've no idea how benign they are and why there near the top of search results.
