  1. I don't think there is one yet. I did an installation of 21H1 on a VM, joined it the insider program and did an in-place upgrade.
  2. Looking at that page, there is one thing that stands out: The newer panel has a 6 bit + FRC panel, while the older one is a real 8 bit panel. While both claim to be able to display 16.7million colours, the 6 bit panel does it by dithering. If you're doing work which requires colour precision, the older panel might be the better choice.

It's also worth noting that Macs are also very fussy about having removable drives removed properly. On a Mac, you must eject a USB drive and wait for the OS that it's safe for you to remove it before you remove it, otherwise there's every chance that this will happen. I suspect your user pulled the drive out in the middle of a write operation, which would have caused this.

I hate to say it but I think the chances are that they're gone. The OS is showing those files as 0KB. You might be able to get the files back using a utility like GetDataBack but at best I think your chances are 50/50. I'd say to the teacher to use this as a learning experience.

  7. For some, but not these specific ones. That’s a good point, I’ll check that tomorrow
  8. So much I want to say about yesterday's announcement but can't because it's all inherently political. Suffice to say, I think it's too much too soon.
  9. Got a bit of an odd one. I've got a series of mail enabled security groups that I created fairly recently. They're in-cloud groups created in the Exchange management console and populated in there. When you look at the group in Azure AD or in OWA, the membership of the group is correct. When you look at it in desktop Outlook, there are only two or three members shown in the group. If you send a mail to the group from Outlook, all of the members of the group get the mail so the problem is cosmetic but still annoying. At first I blamed it on an outdated offline address book cache, but even if you look at the "online" address book, the group membership still displays incorrectly. This is happening for multiple people, me included. Anyone seen this behaviour before? Cheers
  10. NetSupport DNA can do this. Lot of money, just for that admittedly but it can do plenty of other stuff as well.
  11. From what I've seen of it so far Friggin' awful. So much potential wasted.
  12. The crash screen is usually a different colour on preview versions of Windows.

  14. Intel used to own an ARM implementation. It was called StrongARM. They killed it off. I don't see them getting back into that market. It seems to be that if it isn't x86 or a derivative, they just don't know what to do with it. Apple can get their developers to develop for multiple architectures because their development tools make this relatively simple to do. Code something in Xcode using the correct language and it takes care of it for you. Microsoft are trying to do that as well with WPF but Win32 and .NET are far too embedded.
