  2. Just got an update to my Monzo app. They’re allowing you to set the contactless limit on your cards to anything up to £100, which is nice.

  9. No, you misunderstand. There have been plenty of issues with printing, but there was a new one each month for about three months introduced with each subsequent patch. The December patch is supposed to fix what was broken in 2021-10, the 0x000006e4 and 0x00000709 errors. If people are expecting this new patch to fix other faults, they're going to be disappointed. That's what I'm wondering what they think it's going to fix.

  11. That's a good point actually, I should look at that. I wonder what people are grumbling about it not fixing?
  12. My three doses were all Pfizer Dose 1) Sore arm, felt like crap for a couple of days afterwards Dose 2) Sore arm, had a bit of a headache the next day, but otherwise fine Dose 3) Sore arm, otherwise fine.

  19. Might be worth trying Neverware, if converting them into a Chromebook would be acceptable? /edit might also be worth trying this: https://github.com/JoseExposito/touchegg to help with the touchscreen
  20. Full blown Ubuntu might be better then? I think that has a tablet mode, although it's going to be heavier on resources.
  21. There isn't a huge amount of difference between the 12 and the 13, but the 12 is very different cosmetically to the X/11. The X/XR/11 all use similar design language to the iPhone 6/7/8 with rounded edges whereas the 12 uses a more iPhone 5-like design with the square edges. I think it's safe to say that progress with mobile phones has been stagnant for a long time, even before the pandemic. Everything for the past five years or more I'd say have been refinements rather than a major shift in design or a new killer feature.
  22. Most modern distributions should boot from UEFI. You may have to disabled SecureBoot, however. Something like Lubuntu if you need something lightweight?
  23. I did some wandering today with my comically oversized 4G antenna attached to a tallish pole and to my dongle, plugged into a laptop. I managed to get 13mbps out of it on EE. I'll have that! Called a television aerial company today to ask if they could attach the antenna to an existing TV aerial pole, they're quoting for the job tomorrow. Just need a router now.
  24. Because preserving the contents of Joe Cartoon is soooo important for the sake of humanity. Why are we as a society so obsessed with preserving what's old?
