  1. Glad to see you found them the appropriate drivers in the end, quite why they're not installed as part of the installation process is beyond me!
  2. Point the find new hardware wizard to 'C:\Program Files\SMART Technologies\SMART Product Drivers\PNP Drivers' and it should find the correct driver in that folder! Hope this helps.

    Sky HD?

I did some research into this when I had Sky HD. All the freeview HD channels are available from the planner.. except for ITV HD which is available as a 'red button on demand' style service. I did find instructions on avforums for how to manually add ITV HD as a channel - although it obviously wont have any content except at particular times. Hope that makes sense!!
  4. I've setup Cacti to graph network errors on our switches as we've been suffering performance problems for sometime. I've discovered on a few switches there are large volumes of discarded packets. I'm just trying to establish what the graph units of measurement are, as for example: On one graph it may display 3 errors/sec. On another it may display peaks of 400m errors/sec. Does anyone know what the m standards for?
  5. Trying to update a number of our images and roll them out over the Easter break, however I've come up against a problem that I've not been able to resolve or even find any information about online! Sysprep runs with the following command line switches '-reseal -mini -quiet' however after it runs through the process (you see the hourglass turning as normal) it will pop up with a message saying that 'Sysprep is already running' at the point it would normally reboot. If you reboot the computer manually after this message appears minisetup doesn't run either. I've tried watching task manager but can only ever see one instance of sysprep running. Does anyone have any bright ideas? At a loss on this one
  6. Just got this installed and setup a couple of switches/servers on it. Seems like another really nice piece of open source software! My question is what things do you monitor in your environment? Have you found or created any really useful script/template add-ons? I feel I've just scratched the surface with this and am keen to see how we can effectively use this to monitor our network performance. So any ideas, suggestions or ways in which you use it would be very interesting! Cheers.
  7. Fourth vote for papercut! Using it here very successfully, setup with photocopiers and proximity cards too
  8. We've got experience of both, we're currently using Papercut MF - started with NG but upgraded when we wanted to start using proximity cards. We had a little bother getting one variety of proximity card reader to work with the others as one read the cards in decimal and the others read in hexadecimal. We were able to overcome this though with an upgrade of the software on the reader. Other than that though we've been very happy with our setup. Also worth mentioning that we trialled Pcounter and Equitrack but found Papercut to be best for our needs.
  9. Thanks for that, I'd taken out the XP Evaluation CD and installed from it although I didn't actually browse it, assumed it was a standard XP CD!
  10. Another trend I noticed is that people who heavily use Excel seem to have more random folders than others, is this something you've noticed too?
  11. One thought that did occur.... If I change a users my documents to another location (which they do not have write access to) and map their my documents to a drive letter instead they could then use MS Office and wait for an access denied error. As surely if Office tries to create a folder in My Documents without write access it would generate an access denied error. If this popped up after completing a specific action within Office it might give enough of a clue to avoid/resolve this problem.
  12. Just checked - our XPe thin client appears in the default workgroup too along with all our network printers, cd server and clipbank server.
  13. Looks like a group of devices on your network that are part of the default workgroup. I think sometimes network printers can appear in this way too.
  14. I'm currently studying for 70-270, next step on the road to MCSA. I'm also using VirtualBox on my laptop to run a few server/client vms to practice some of the theory. My question though... where did you get the MS Press books in eBook form? The one part of studying I hate is the huge books and I think reading from an eBook would be much more up my street Also has anyone here used CBTNuggets and have any feedback? Have been looking at resources to use in addition to the MSPress book and found these, although they're very expensive I was wondering if anyone had found these valuable?
  15. Is there not an option in your backup software so you can restore the data with the permissions/ownership intact?
  16. I saw these at BETT too, fantastic looking product. We'll be looking to get one of these to sample too
  17. Like the sound of that! Is it something you'd be prepared to share?
  18. How do you change a poll you've already setup? Can't see a button to do it
  19. Interesting that you would go with Exchange if funding is available, why is that? Is Zimbra lacking in some features? or are you talking from an administrators point of view?
  20. What are people using these days? MS Office or OpenOffice? I would be interested to hear any comments people have as we're currently looking to make a decision on whether to take out a schools agreement and include Office or simply switch to OpenOffice.
  21. What are people using these days? Exchange or Zimbra? I would be interested to hear any comments people have as we're currently looking to make a decision on whether to go for Exchange 2007 / 2010 or move away to Zimbra.
  22. Interesting that you're using mandatory profiles as well, maybe this has some bearing on it..
  23. Was this ever resolved? As I now have the same problem!

    Flashing Cursor

Just updated the BIOS to latest version and reset to defaults, same behaviour as before. Also no flash drives in the computer on this occasion - wish it was that easy to fix!!

    Flashing Cursor

I've just tried booting off the Windows CD, I get the prompt to press any key to boot from the CD. Once I've done this you see the message saying 'Setup is inspecting your computer hardware'. After this the screen goes black. Sorry that's my fault, forgot to mention that point in my original post - the problem hasn't as yet reoccurred on computers that have been re-imaged. I've also tried making the hard disk the only bootable device as per your suggestion but no joy unfortunately
