we had many issues getting our Sibelius licence server running on our XServe, in the end we ran it off one of our windows servers and linked them up that way. Are the mac clients on the network? if you keep getting issues give Sibelius a call. i had to call them the other day over something and they ended up sending me a file to re-register the client software and i could then re-authorise the licence

Is there a way to force all network users via xserve to use the local drive? we are having issues with mainly the prograns are not caching to local drives and also students being able to save and work locally to avoid latency issues when working with big files

Hi guys, I wondered if anyone can give me a quick crash course on sharing a folder on our mac server, ideally i want to be able to share a folder from our Windows server 2003 and have it visible on the students docks when they log in. I am not wonderful on macs at all as am Windows through and through. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cross platform issues between RM XP CC3 and Win 7

It seems (just to boil it down some more) if we move the user out of the RM OU in AD into our new Win 7 OU then when they log back into the RM XP CC3 it has lost its drive mappings -

That is exactly what we are getting, did you ever find a solution to the problem at all, open to all suggestions here as we have a deadline for Win 7 rollout coming up fast -
Hi, We are experiencing problems with users who are on the RM XP CC3 network logging into our new build of a non-RM Windows 7. It seems to be that they cant see network drives at all. Has anyone experienced this or heard of this issue Many thanks for any help

Just as an update everything else on ent seems to work fine it has been isolated down to the Intranet that isnt connecting properly it takes a very very long time to appear.

We have just tested the whole process but are getting problems with IE not working, it is on network and seeing network drives etc just wont launch internet, adapter saying connected to internet. Ip has been released/renewed and adapter removed and scanned for hardware changes and still nothing Any ideas?
-
Ok thanks, we have some time to do testing, the hardware on the machiens are identical, apart from Gigabyte changing their network chips now and again on different board revisions grrr

Wonderful news, this should make our life a little easier

Yeah i mean all we would be doing is adding to domain etc on our build machine then installing hdd straight at users desk....job done and practically no downtime

Hi Guys, Can anyone see any issues that may occur if we were to build an image of windows 7 onto an SSD and place that SSD into another machine on the network which would be identical in specification. The only thing i can think off the top of my head would be MAC address but i would assume this would refresh when on the new machine. Ideally out of this we have created a new windows 7 image that we want to push out to a few machines and would like to minimse on downtime by pre building for example 6 images and pushing them out that way but just arriving at the said computer and swapping HDD Many thanks for any suggestions

we are just about to roll out papercut at our site, i know it is possible although i believe it is a 'bolt on' you have to purchase

I will give this option a go although i thought it might conflict with the other phones with S/N etc
-
to be totally honest to even start to think about playing GTA5 you will need to be looking at £300+ group for graphics cards, you maybe better off just waiting and saving some more. You pretty much have everything else there

Hi All, we are getting a batch of iPhone 4's in for some members of staff and i wonder if anyone knew of a way to creat an image at all, i would like to obviously get one setup and then just spread that image with contacts etc to the other phones without having to go through the horrible repetitive motion. Any ideas/suggestions? i know the cliche' "there's and app for that" just hoping it will prevail here!

I have had a student bring me their laptop that had a drink spilt on it but instead of bringing it straight to me she had tried to sort the problem herself. After asking her why the entire one side of the keyboard had melted together she then admitted she had used a hairdryer to try and cure the problem which had melted all the keys on one side!

Hi All, Does anyone know how to change the internal auto discover address on Exchange 2007, the OWA is set to the external address but outlook clients on external laptops are still picking up the internal adress presumably from the auto discover. Many thanks
-
Sorry to roll back on this, where about in the exchange does it need to be changed. The OWA is showing as the external address
