As I say, I see where you are coming from, I just dont like that society is that way. If I want to say/write something is pants without having to justify myself, then I should be able to. Like I say, I have said/written many times in the past to friends that a certain movie, or book or game is pants and then not justified myself. Its merely been my opinion of it and I have voiced/written my opinion to friends and see no reason why I should have to justify my opinion. Make no mistake, I am not criticizing Edugeek or anyone on here, you have to do what you have to do to protect yourself, I just find its a shame that we , as a people, have to protect ourselves in this manner in the first place. As such this post is not related in any particular way to this thread, more a comment on the wider social issue of libel/slander

True, in my mind though even the newspaper shouldnt be able to be sued. Although my mind is not the most stable of things at the best of times

I can understand that, of course I would imagine that for something to qualify as a "rant" it would naturally include more than simply "product x is crap" , which is my mind would not be enough to be called a rant. I myself when being critical of something via this site would give more detail on my reasons why. Having said that, due to issues like this one, I would personally never ever use this site to be critical of anything. Its just far too risky, nice site for messing around on though I just wonder where in society this libel issue ends. If I am walking down the street and a friend asks me what I thought of the film "War of the Worlds", if I turn to him and say "Saw it last night, I thought it was total shite". If someone wanders past at that moment who was involved in the movie, would he then take me to court for libel? Now it could be that he could do that..and its that sort of thing which saddens me, as I say, nothing to do with Edugeek, its just I dont like that idea that I cannot simply speak the thoughts in my head without someone suing me for saying a bad thing about their movie/game/book/whatever. Like I say, you wont catch me being negative about anything/one on this forum anyway. Just better to be safe than deal with any fallout

Legally libellous (is that even a word??), or not, personally I find it disgusting that a company can prevent people saying bad things about them/their products. Thats not a comment on Edugeek, its more a comment on how stupid things are in general. I am one of those people who believe that if my opinion is that a movie, or book, or game or product is crap, I will darn well say its crap. Certainly I have said many movies and books and games are crap However..knowing that the ridiculous laws of our land can cause problems in the regard of speaking ones mind, I just dont do it on this forum anymore. Hence why the vast majority of my posts are meaningless drivel, and usually joke posts rather than anything even vaguely serious about my career and its ups and downs. Although its a pity that I cant really use this forum for more serious thoughts, including maybe even the occasional rant, it does however make a good forum for just pissing around on

Students swinging on them is definately one issue, the projector arm which sticks out is awfully tempting for someone to take a running jump at. The lamp can be replaced via a little hatch

Sorry, although we are in the portsmouth area, we do general maintenance on our projectors ourselves, got no idea if £120 a projector is a good price or not

We put up a 680i version of this at Easter. Havent really decided yet whether I prefer it over a seperate proj/smart. There was less cabling required in the install, but then I never really minded doing the cabling for the standard proj/smart. The kids seem to prefer it though, as it looks like a Dalek head. Its certainly handy for keeping the light out of the teachers faces, other than that, I havent noticed much difference yet. Havent noticed any glare on the board.

God knows what the kids eat, but I dont go near our canteen. I head out for something from Marks and Spencer, Greggs or Oggys downtown. On occassion I sometimes go with a BurgerKing or KFC for lunch

Was in the beta for LOTRO, awesome graphics, got a few characters to the mid teens. Just wasnt the game for me, couldnt really put my finger on it, but it just didnt grab me. Found it a bit dull and I never really got past the annoyance of not having Rohan, Gondor, Mordor etc. I think I might have been hooked more if I could have played a "baddie" character (not temporarily in monsterplay, but as a main), rather than just an elf,man,dwarf or hobbit. (traditionally I like to play the badguys in MMOs, I tend to find the good races in MMOs a bit blah) Should be a successful game though, providing that people dont get bored quickly, which seems to be a common issue with Turbine games. I doubt it hooked me due to me having my eyes firmly besotted on Warhammer Online
