I didnt even realise they were still going!! I wonder if we could save some server storage space by migrating our SIMS servers to a new OS and 'accidentally lose' some of the database and then just said 'whoops' and all would be OK?!

It's not just you and it's not just gaming that's going that way. Microsoft have said several times (or at least hinted at it) that at some point everything they do will be subscription based from Windows OS to their XBox consoles.

LOL - the irony of not reading things properly!! I may not be Dyslexic but I have always skipped bits of text for some reason which is why I dont tend to read many (if any) books as when I was young(er) and tried reading Enid Blytons Famous Five books I never knew what was going on as somehow I had skipped a load of paragraphs so had to keep going back and re-reading everything until I found/read the bits I had missed! Sounds like the OP needs to report the issue to ColorVail as it doesnt sound like it is behaving properly.

Not Dyslexic myself, but ColorVeil might help. We had a request for it here last year and it's so easy to install/use that I've added it to the SCCM Software Center so anyone can install it.

So much quicker than the old version we were using! We used to have to let it run overnight and now it works so much faster! Only think I wish it had, was the option to select all the files rather than me having to (literally) have to tick thousands of boxes before hitting the delete button.

If I remember correctly, there is some sort of configuration/setting change you have to make in Impero when going from an old OS like W7 to a modern OS like W10 - something to do with ignoring a particular file that is part of Windows 10 and not 7 I think.

Why not? Never not been able to replace one myself, unless the new AIO's glue their screens in to place like a lot of tablets do, then for the ones I've seen it's no different to replacing a screen on a laptop - remove the case screws, disconnect and remove the screen and replace with spare part ordered from one of our suppliers. Done this several times on AIO PCs. Ironically, the only monitors we've had smashed have been the hard screen ones when a cleaner has accidentally knocked them over!!

Wow! Great to find an update as i just tried to install a (very) old version and it installed OK but the Signatures were not appearing when creating a New Task - hopefully this new version will work!

We've used W10 and Defender (and FEP before that) for years and it's been OK. We originally installed SCCM purely for the centrallised monitoring etc. so you might want to look at that.

In the scenario of a device being only on a UPS with no generator and a graceful shutdown is performed, a person must physically go and power back up the server for example. A generator is required if you wish to have no loss of service in a major power failure. There is normally a setting in the BIOS to power a machine back on in the event of it not being gracefully shutdown so when the power returns, it powers up but if it's been gracefully shutdown I dont know how a BIOS would know the difference between a human running a shutdown command and a piece of software running the same shutdown command for example. Virgin Media for example have portable generators that can go in the back of one of their vans and move around to some of their equipment in the street should a power failure occur (i.e. construction worker digging through one of their power cables) that they can use until the issue has been resolved.

We use the Sahara Wall Mounted Active Speakers (around £59). Good volume, good sound (not tinny) and very simple and fairly solid. They have one dial/button, you press it to turn it on/off and rotate it to change the volume. It also comes with a remote control as well. Simple but effective.

A battery backup like a UPS isn't really there to power the equipment during a power failure. In the event of a power cut it's main purpose is to either provide enough power for a graceful shutdown of the equipment so it doesnt get damaged or to provide enough time for a backup power solution to kick in like a generator for example. I would expect a BT exchange to have a generator for when power-cuts occur??

I hope not! They should be using DAS or SAN for cloud storage.

We got our electrician to run an Ethernet socket up on to the roof at either end and then got them to mount the devices and point them at each other until the signal strength indicator on the back was at the strongest. It's been up for around 3 years now.

Physical or VM? If it's a VM then shutdown the server and alter the partition using the free software on your computer rather than on the server itself as in my experience most of the free ones dont work on a Server as they expect you to pay for that.

Always worth asking if that could be a feature as they're always adding things that people request.

Take a look at the Open Source product, Snipe-IT - I seem to remember it has Audit in there somewhere but it's not a feature we use so not sure how it works - or even if it will do what you want/need.
