So far I've ordered; 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair XMS3 1.5v 1,600MHz DDR3 RAM Corsair TX650W PSU Standard Sony 24x DVD RW optical drive (no need for anything fancy) Standard b/g/n wireless PCI card This case (May not be amazing but it'll do for now) Thrown in some extra fans for good measure Later today when I have time to shop around some more for the best deal I'll be looking to order the more expensive parts; Intel i5-3550 Quad-core 3.3Ghz 6Mb cache nVIDIA GeForce GTX560 Ti 1Gb (2 DVI, 1 HDMI, 1 VGA) Asus P8Z77-M motherboard Think I'll also pick up one of the Corsair A50 heatsinks too. My budget will be all but gone once I order that little lot so for now I may just use my existing PC's 500Gb HDD to get things up & running and then treat myself to a 1Tb (possibly 2Tb) HDD next payday.

lol Well some of them are pretty well hidden, you'd only find them by roaming around areas where there isn't really anything else to be found, such as the very edges of the map. The "Steed Stone" is the one to watch for, that gives you +100 to carrying weight and no movement penalty for heavy armour

I much preferred the Daedric armour over the dragon one. The standing stone for the abilty to carry loads more weight was my constant standing stone for most of the game after I started to smith heavier armours. Tbh I thought most of the Standing Stone abilities were a bit weak and that was by far the most useful one. The faster levelling up of abilities is OK, but most of the abilities offered by the SS's just seemed a bit dull to me.

Whilst in Skyrim my general rule was "unless you look like a plot point character, you are my prey, and I shall only permit thee to live if you benifit me". Thus I ended up with a LOT of bounty on my head, and villages bereft of life after I swarmed through and burnt/chopped everyone down

Hey, not sure if this should be here or in the gaming section, but it is a "how do i?..." type question! I am looking into building my first gaming rig, and frankly there are so many different makes & model numbers of hardware out there that it's making my head hurt a bit! So I wondered if any veterens here would look over my spec here and see if a) I've made any obvious mistakes, b) anything that could be improved for a reasonable cost, and c) if this will cope well enough with titles due to be released now/near future ie Diablo III, Modern Warfare/Battlefield etc or am I going to be needing to upgrade something very soon? The guy is just pushing to get a lower price is all. I'd say chopping 30% off of the asking price is close to being a bit cheap, but with people's finances the way they are at the moment it's not ridiculous. Ultimately, the question is: how much does that £10 difference mean to you? As it is one console with 2 profiles, and one profile works fine, that would suggest that it is a problem with the profile not the hardware, and as she said it disconnected "during game-play" I'd assume both are Gold accounts otherwise the online game-play wouldn't be possible at all. They could try deleting the profile from the xbox and then recovering it from the online saved version; To delete the profile: Go to Settings, and then select System. Select Storage. Select All Devices. Select Gamer Profiles. Select the gamertag that you want to delete. Select Delete. Select Delete Profile Only (This deletes the profile but leaves saved games and achievements) To recover the profile from Xbox Live Sign out of any profiles logged into on the Xbox. Press the Xbox Guide button on your controller. Select Download Profile. Enter the Windows Live ID (email address) and password associated with your Xbox LIVE gamertag. Note If the account is an Xbox LIVE child account, the parent’s Windows Live ID information is required to download the profile. Select the storage device for your profile (for example, Hard Drive). The profile will be downloaded and can then be used again. ------------- It's also worth remembering that the technology is not infallible, that problems & disconnections do occur and the fact that the kids/adults say that one account "never disconnects" and the other "always does" does not mean that is completely the case... It might also be worth finding out if the actual *connection* to xbox Live was lost, or the kid was simply booted from a game by the controller of the game. If they're letting their kids play something like Call of Duty then that is highly possible; I've played with many, many people who would kick any kids out of the game straight away just for being kids.

Last time I did a home-repair job for someone was an overnight deal (it took me several hours in an evening to do, remove all data, wipe & reinstall OS & software, restore data taken off) and as it was for someone's daughter at uni she needed it done right then that evening. Charged her £80 for the work as it was a "last minute" thing (she phoned me about 4.30pm to ask me to do it, brought the laptop to my house an hour later). At the time that was cheaper than somewhere like PC World who also do not save your data for you, only install a fresh OS. If I can do it in school hours I dont tend to charge as often they present more interesting problems than the everyday things we normally deal with, but something that has to be done at home in my own time I wouldn't do for less than £50 I reckon. My time is my time, and an evening with the missus is worth more to me than £20! EDIT: Before anyone says it, for £50 my missus is happy for me to be sat at a PC all evening as it means I can then "buy her a present" < her own words

@Gatt my understanding is that if the #hashtag you are using doesn't get picked up and used a LOT by other people then searching for it won't do anything as Twitter will bascally ignore it as a one-time thing. For example, a little while ago I ran a competition to win a Total War Shogun 2 steam code - told everyone to add #tws2 to their entry tweet so I could find them easily. At the time a few popped up when searching for it as they were used in quick succession, but if you search for that now it won't return those tweets even though I can manually go and find them so I know they exist. Also, because #GattsRamblings is your twitter username, when searching for it it just brings up a link to your profile, it might just count #GattsRamblings as your username and not an actual #hashtag to relate to tweets.

I've had guests to the school say things like "OH so you're the resident geek here are you?" when I'm introduced to them. Though one of them (my favourite person to visit the school, coincedently) upon my introduction as IT Manager repled with "Ahhh, so, you're the guy who really runs things around here then *wink*" Made me chuckle, which was quite apt as he was in promoting "laughology"!

Quite a while ago if you live here in Luton, I remember it being around when I was in high school 14+ years ago! It tends to be used by the more, shall we say, 'street' speaking youths around here...

Oh jeez, this error has been driving me crazt for months as well. Every week I have to rejoin 4-6 of our laptops/netbooks to the domain to get them working again. Very frustrating for the pupils, teachers and me! I set this on my laptops here too, but the problem still occurs I'm going to give the advice in that post above a shot, running sc config netlogon depend= wlansvc/lanmanworkstation to make the netlogon dependant on the wireless being connected first, which seems to be the cause of the problem (not having a wiireless connection until after windows has been logged in to).

The big advantage to me personally of having an touchscreen tablet instead of a laptop (at home) is that I can hold it like a book and have it close to my face. My eyesight is terrible at distance and even a laptop sitting on my knees while on a sofa would be of difficulty for me to use; I generally need to be no more than 8-10 inches away from the screen if I am to read things clearly and easily. So in that regard, a tablet is perfect for me.

Had a few of the more rascally year 6 boys call me "mate" now and then, which I try to discourage. Of course, the reception-age children call every adult in the school "miss" and until they hit year 2 they are no male staff teaching/looking after them at all so they're just completely used to saying "miss!" when they want an adult's attention. Heard all sorts over the years; Computer Man, Computer Guy, IT Man, and my personal favourite from a year 6 girl last year "Mr Genius" lol Mr Pete has become mainstream recently, thanks to the blokes in the PE team who all let the kids call them by their first names and often even call me Mr Pete in front of the kids too! It doesn't bother me what they call me really, as long as they are respectful about it that's fine with me.
