tech advice and emotional support needed!
Joanne replied to mikeprice's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
^ this. I personally would back up all the data and start from scratch!! (but then my school is a primary and machines are easily re-imaged and re-added to the domain!) I'd kill to start with a clean server. -
I'm struggling to get Lynx to open any other formats! Is that what you are using?
-
I've not had this with mine. 6-12 months old.
-
Within configurator go to help and there is a feedback option there. I've sent things through that before.
-
Also Benq ones come with Wordwall which is a mint bit of software!!
-
I've got CleverTouch here. If you use smart notebook though, defo look into smart boards. Although the software that comes with CleverTouch (Lynx) is very similar to smart, so you might be able to convince staff to move over. I'm trying and failing at the moment though... weening them off is hard.

It comes with many benefits so don't sweat it. (quietly doesn't mention the drawbacks!!)

Microsoft to move out of the education market?

Thing is for me, 19% is an extra maybe £250. So my total will be around £1500 a year. Still (I think) cheaper than faffing with Azure and its monthly costings. -
Thanks all for holding my hand through that. I really should have the confidence to go through with things like that all by myself!!

Patch Cleaner claims to have found 20GB of orphaned files, so just moving them onto another partition. 20GB.... just... don't get it!
-
-
It is. How rude of you
-
I've actually got that page open on a tab already! Hahah. So tempted to use Patch Cleaner... I've used it successfully before....
-
Yeah it's a RAID 5. C - 80GB , D - 80GB, E - 850GB, X - 105GB. I just wish I knew why it keeps filling! Maybe it is log files...
-
It does. I'm just looking on that there WinDirStat and it doesn't appear as a huge square. I am coming across quite a few log files like people have said that are large, but you wouldn't see them in treesize! Pretty colours. I can delete these .log files can't I? They will recreate won't they? Deleted 3GB worth of Sophos logs.

Been through all this and took anything I definitely don't need off. Here are my top space hoggers! - - - Updated - - - I knows it Seriously considering using that Patch Cleaner on the server though... that takes out orphaned files.
