I have started to think why I was sold 100's of pounds worth of wall boxes when the interactive screens I have have side inputs.... >.< d'oh.

Had a real world test of my image last week, logging on a bank of laptops which I've put Windows 10 onto and they worked like a dream. Initial logon is about 30 seconds or so and then after is a lot faster. Excited to be upgrading everything.

I'm going to a beginners meeting thing tonight at the golf club with the intention of signing up for a 3 month membership to start at the beginning of next month, so I'll have most of the summer holidays to play.

I have a case open with buffalo, so I've been following their documentation. This involved downloading 3 files and extracting them. Connecting the laptop to the terastation LAN, changing the IP to 192.168.11.1 on the laptop, running a firmware updating exe which pushed files to the terastation. I think I did this 8 times until I made some progress. Now the terastation shows up in NAS Navigator in EM mode. Now I'm trying to write the software to it, but it continues to fail. I am going to be trying again this evening. I think you just have to be patient and eventually it will take the files!!

I'm on with Tropico 5.... URGH DAT CHEESE MISH THO.

That probably won't filter down to LTSB for another while though :-/

I have not! I'm thinking the software on the hard drives is gone... will try this tonight. What an exciting life I lead! 😂

Ah yes... the fabled recovery mode. It won't boot into EM mode. No matter how long I hold the little red button for!

Has anyone ever recovered one of these units from this error? Precisely it's a TS-XE4.0L/R5. I've scoured the Buffalo forums to NO AVAIL. This is a working from home effort, so will appreciate ideas to try during the day and I'll have a dez at night. Here is what I have tried - putting all factory original hard drives back in the unit (3 have previously failed) trying 4 working hard drives cloning drives from a known working unit attaching a machine with IP address 192.168.11.1 running TFTP to a folder with the units firmware running NAS Navi and trying to find the station on the network I can't ping the thing, even when on the same IP range. SO - if you can help me get it working again that would be lovely. It is a backup drive for my self employed primary and they can't really afford a new one. I've got a 1TB HDD attached to the server for backups at the moment, and as you can appreciate - that isn't ideal

That'll be different for you then! Lessons with a pro have really helped me. I can hit them straight and my swing is good, just need to get my coordination down, add some power and know which club to select when out on the course!!

Good luck!! One of my main issues is getting the ball up in the air. I think my swing speed needs working on too. Got an on the course lesson next week anyways.

This was only my third time on a course, so I guess it's to be expected. I knocked 12 shots off my last round so at least I'm making some progress!!

Right when I got home from golf last night, Mr Pete was arms deep in the cabinet stripping everything out so we will stop playing and get doing! He has filled in gaps with wood filler. Sanding should be happening tonight!

Well I boot from USB and then use a USB-LAN adaptor to image via MDT (y)

I tried to do the unattend file once... might have to try again. I am looking at MDT moving forwards, because my new machines won't have LAN ports *scream*

When I re-image machines, even though I select UK for everything, when the machine is back up, the region, language and keyboard is set to English (United States) and I spend quite a bit of time changing it back to UK. When I go onto group policy on the server and go to user config | Preferences | Control Panel Settings | Regional Options and select 'new regional options' the location is greyed out. The server is set to UK. Where are the clients picking up these settings? How can I stop them from trying to be american? Thanks in advance!

For me personally it would be Microsoft, because that's something I use all the time. If you wanted to change careers, then probably something else. I've considered web design courses in the past, but then I decided not to bother! What are you interested in?

Goodness... if I wasn't confused before.... Education should basically be similar to LTSB... no consumer apps.

First glimpse I thought it was wrong, but each drive has a 5% chance of failure. With 8 drives you have a 40% chance of one of them failing (8 x 5). But then it's a 0.025% chance of all of them failing (1 / (8x5) )
