My two pence - also a disliker or xibo - I use a machine running Windows 7 - auto logs on, then startup script opens a playlist on windows media player. Videos can be whatever you like. Also you can export videos from powerpoint if that is your desire. A much simpler setup, but might be too basic for some peoples requirements.

I'd love too, but see little point while the server is still under warranty until 2018 About £1000 at the moment for 3 x 600GB SSDs.

With powerpoint I could just import original image, put a square the same size over the top, re-size my logo accordingly, select the logo and the new square, right click, save as picture. Then put that image in, resize to the same size as the smaller images, right click, save as picture... etc etc. That make sense? If you wanna PM me your e-mail and send me your logo I can knock them together for you. Only took me 10 mins. -

I changed mine. I replaced them all with images the same size (pixels) and type. So I opened powerpoint, imported all the images of the sad grey man and made my school logo the same size as each one and then saved them over the sad grey men. My powerpoint looks like this: then reboot the machine and you get: Just done it now on a VM. No reg editing or anything. -
Got another disk failure in my Dell... getting a new one sent out under warranty. The disk that is predicted failure is a year old and was replaced last year. Kinda makes me think the others might be on their way out again too. Is there a known issue with Seagate SAS drives? Am I doing something wrong to cause too much hard drive activity or something? Maybe I'm just unlucky!

Swap the hard drive and see if you can image it then. If it still fails try different RAM. -

or possibly a hardware issue. Hard drive or RAM? -
How will you know if the answer is any good if you are struggling with the question? Which Apple products do you use at your place?

Do we actually need SOLUS3 client on all the workstations?
Joanne replied to AJWhite1970's topic in MIS Systems
I think Solus improves the update experience for SIMS. I deploy it through the agent jobby on the server. It installs all by itself and if you reimage a machine but give it the same AD name, I think it will re-install it (might be wrong there). I'd definitely use Solus. I think there might be a bigger picture that we can't see. -
If she needs both might be worth creating a new one?

I'm blushing. If anything, this has opened my eyes to how awesome MDT is... I'm glad I had to install it!
-
The image is on there. Just sorting drivers and do a couple more checks and I'll get it in a classroom to see how it is with the boards. YAY!
-
THat's what I've gone for. Metal body is a bit sturdier than your usual plastic rubbish!
-
Yeah it's sexy as!

Right... I'm having a right mare with this. I've installed MDT on the server and created a bootable USB drive, but now hurdle number 10930218490318.... it doesn't recognise the USB-LAN adaptor. DAMN YOU! How do I get drivers on my bootable USB? le edit: just plugged in my cheapo usb-lan thingy and it's connected to the server... oh man I don't think I have any of this configured properly o.O
