Not true! The percentage of pupils who don't have access to the internet, and some kind of laptop or PC is so small - that it becomes a possibility that pupil premium can bridge that gap, or the cost of something like edugate enables those without to get a device that they can use at a sensible monthly payment. Furthermore, with remote desktop solutions, all our pupils have access to software and files from home, so it is completely possible.

You would use something like Meraki or Lightspeed for this. Or, if your filtering is good, and kids are reliable (high school perhaps) let them install the apps and manage the ipads themselves. The worse case is they need to install an app in the lesson (again, probably only high school kids) Perhaps. But, the impact these devices can have on allowing a pupils education to continue at home, or get them more engaged in lessons could well produce whole curriculum better outcomes for students because of the cross curricular impact they would have. It falls to each school tbh I think - it depends where you are - our school has IT so embedded at every stage, one2one makes real sense.

Okay, so tried to debug, very briefly, before the page reloads, after pressing the OK button on the delete config I get an error 405 method not allowed on the correct URL to delete the booking?

Ive just tested on another install, and I cannot delete on that one either. Very weird, will do some debugging

Have HAP at multiple schools I support, got one of them now not allowing users (any users) to delete bookings. You can create, so I don't think its permissions based (in terms of NTFS), and it applies to domain admins, so I dont think its HAP permissions I have reinstalled, updated etc etc and still no luck - this is on a server 2008r2 install Anyone got any ideas?!

I am confused as to the stated benefits of tape, if you have a robust backup plan with other solutions? For instance, our backups include VEEAM backups of VMs to a NAS in another building nightly (14 points), weekly backups to NAS in another buillding (4 points) Monthly backup to another NAS in same location as the nightly ones for achives and then 1 weekly in a fire safe and 1 weekly offsite at another school. I cannot see how tapes would make that any better? From the OP POV I shouldn't be without tape - can someone explain why I would need it?

In the end I have given up, and used a script I found, all he has to do is run it when he is not on his PC and switch it to filtered. He was happy to change the settings each time, so he will be fine with this I think. the gpp was changing the settings to the new proxy, so that side was working, but it wasn't not applying it if it didnt meet the target settings Still confused why it wouldnt work...

I am aware of that, and have checked it with the safeguarding SMT. Our unfiltered still filters for certain categories. It mainly allows downloads of files.

Okay, so done the IE GPP settings change, and that appears to be working. For the targetting, in the editor I have said if user x OR user Y AND IP address of XXXXX Yet it is still applying on a PC which doesn't have that IP. I have tried it with PC Name as well, and that made no difference. Do I need to set GPP targeting settings anywhere else?

I tried the item level targetting, thats what I set, I tried using the username option, the IP address, and the PC name. And a combination of them all... will try the fix for the IE gpo, and see if that applies better, thanks

Hello Our new head wants to be on unfiltered on his office PC. Obviously I could put a gpp on an ou with him in it, so he would get the unfiltered settings - however when he goes to another PC these won't work. I tried to therefore use gpp loop back to say if it was his user, on his PC then apply this gpp policy. However it doesn't work. In gpp, I only have the option to set policies for IE 8, but I understand 11 would use this? It also doesn't appear to loose the proxy settings even if I put it in an ou and exclude policies on the user, it won't change the default proxy. Am I doing it right? Is this something gpp loop back can do? If not, should in have a script? Ideas/help welcomed. Win 7 clients, ie 11, server 2008r2

Gotta say, I have never found it a problem, and we do have fast user switching enabled. Kids don't tend to use it, but staff do, if they do the live session shows up, and a blank screen for the inactive session - can't really see the problem? Certainly no one has complained ...

And get this, when I change her userarea to one of the other shares that work, that works on the machine It has taken a specific disliking to talking to a specifc share, no matter who has logged on. It's machine specific as well. Utterly confused.

So... this is a weird one...! A user can login to any machine in the school, and get her home drive - apart from her laptop. It shows, it maps, but I cant open it, says its not on the network. Other shares, on the same server, are mapped and working fine. It is just her userarea. Weird I thought - so did delprof, deleted server version of profile and double checked all permissions, all appear fine. I then tried another user, exactly the same thing happens. Can access all other shares, but not their homedrive. Students can. I am confused as no settings have been changed to make it decide to not access that one share. I am stumped. Probably looking at a rebuild? As an aside, I cant open the staff user share when logged on as admin either, but can access the other shares.... Very weird!
