Whether or not you will like the iphone depends. Do you have a Mac, enjoy using apple macs, have you ever had a smartphone? If you want to listen to music, watch video, take some pictures, browse the net etc I think it is really good. If you are more into GPS, 3G, want a really good camera get a N95. I had that exact same problem back when the update came out, the update takes a LONG time to run. In my case i had to leaving it running for over 24 hours to update sharepoint. It may look like it has crashed but leave it running for 2 days and it should be ok. I'm pretty sure MS have recalled this patch and issued a new one to fix this issue.
