To be fair I only started when I got home yesterday, but the PlayWithSix thing was seriously confusing (GUI didn't 'in place' at certain bits) and a lot of the servers were either Whitelists or Private Hives, terms that at present make no sense to me! I just picked random ones that I could get into I -should- be in the steam group username is TBlax but my Steam 'display name' is Major Tom (I'm a Bowie fan, so..) Wicked, I shall keep an eye out is the Lingor Island a mod I have to download extra? I'm sure I saw that before somewhere.. I'll add you once I'm home do you reccomend using DayZ Commander over PlayWithSix? I only went with PWS because it said on the website that they don't support DayZ Commander and it made me a bit hesistant. I'd comment about that in combat thing but as I wasn't around for the old one it's new to me anyway I found my first weapon (a crowbar, no guns for me ah well!) and although it was a bit 'delayed' it went alright... until I somehow managed to break my leg by crawling into an object

Max Payne 3 looks very tempting, that's a damn good bargain! - Prototype 2's caught my eye but I've not even played the original, is it any good? I'm a bit annoyed though. I've just recently looked into DayZ (and it looks EPIC) - I bought ArmA II: Combined Ops for £14.99 on the first day. I then see it's £12.45 on the second day, and THEN I find out they're making a standalone game for DayZ so I didn't even need to buy ArmA II. Gutted is not the word. Ah well, my first ever PC game was Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis and I bloody loved that game, still do! So I'm sure ArmA II will keep me happy as well as DayZ I relate to that problem too much; I buy games because they're too tempting/in the sale and then I forget to play them. I bought BioShock 2 back in 2010 and I haven't even run it. Not once.

Mainly it's used for 'special' school assemblies and drama productions.

Morning all, The current camcorder we have (Panasonic VDR-D310) is starting to show its signs of age (roughly 5+ years old now,) No HD recording, saves recordings to the 'miniDVD' disc & SD card feature doesn't work, completely menu driven so it takes ages to do any task with it, despite trying multiple AC chargers and batteries, the camera won't run off the battery and has to be plugged in if wanted to be used (pain in the rear if you're trying to record the kids on the stage from a reasonable distance) Nothing's been asked of me to look for a new one (mainly because nobody knows what equipment we have, even we don't know half of what we've got! Stupid stockrooms!) but I figure it'd be worth having a look at a possible upgrade. I've seen a few that look 'alright' but I'm curious to see if anybody else can give some suggestions of ones they've got/what they think would be ideal? Ideally it needs to be tough casing (not some shiny/fancy state of the art one) and at a guess the budget would be between £100-£250... maybe £300 if it ticked the boxes. I wasn't here when they bought this camcorder so I have no idea what they paid for it, although I believe when it was new it was worth around £400. Cheers!

I expect it'll be the case of a later release, yeah, but the fact nothing's been said at all yet (and they usually at least speculate a release) is a bit annoying must resist the urge to believe in rumours! Also, what do people think of the first mission? Apparently there was a description released about it but I can't find it anywhere!

What did you all think about the trailer then? I for one absolutely loved it, and the fact they've now given us an insight on the three protagonists theory. They clearly gave a good impression of what each character is like and it's just made me want it more now. I'm still a bit gutted a PC release hasn't been confirmed though

Sounds like a game where you have to throw a 'blob'-looking ball at a washing line of fish going across the screen to try and knock them off the pegs, haha.

I'm quite happy playing CoD 1, CoD:UO, CoD 2 and CoD 3 on singleplayer, but the multiplayer is fantastic too on them! Gotta love custom maps and working tanks - I've played all of the new CoD's but they've just not interested me at all, far too concentrated on the MP aspect of it and the storylines just lack. No doubt I'll get a hurl of abuse for this post but it's just my opinion, I have nothing against people who play the new ones BLOPS/BLOPS2 look fun and I would play them, but I wouldn't want to buy them myself. (No, I do not 'pirate'... oooarrr me arties!)

I was at first skeptical about it, but I've never been one to make a conclusion on something without giving it the benefit of doubt and actually TRYING it, so I put my first impression aside and took a look. I'm very glad I did. Absolutely love it, and what a bargain price to upgrade to it as well! I do agree that for some people who lack the benefit of a touch-screen monitor, it can be a little 'fiddly' to navigate on a normal desktop, but I've not really had any issues with it. The whole 'Apps' thing took a while to convince me that it 'fitted in' but I've grown to it there's definitely a lot of potential with it and I hope they work on that basis to enhance it further. I definitely think Windows 8 can be a lot more practical in schools, especially now that tablets are becoming more common. Just how I view at least - the only downside is that despite what some people will say, the way you work with Windows 8 is a lot different to Windows 7/XP (granted, most of the general bits are the same as Windows 7 but the whole Modern UI thing tends to sway people, from what I've noticed when showing them what it looks like.) - Unfortunately we live in a society where the majority of people cry the word "TRAINING" at almost anything new, what happened to the days of self-learning at home? I still do that now! Anyway, apart from that, TL-DR is that I LOVE IT WITH A PASSION I DO LIKE!

I have no idea if we've got an EES Agreement or not, how does one obtain it? (Sorry for the silly question, 'PFY' here!) - Boss isn't in until Thursday so I'll ask him if we have one. I've heard of Forefront before but never realised it could be used as that, that's brilliant whether we could convince them to pay for the tools is another story. It's a pain in the arce really, they complain and demand to have things put in place - we give them a solution and unless it has the word 'FREE' stamped on it they won't bother. Vicious cycle! As what @Oaktech said, @RTFM. SWGfL have a few uses. Albeit a few, but the filtering service does make life easier and credit due to them, they do have everything covered - one less thing to be responsible for!

Unfortunately on-site filtering won't happen here.. we're cheapskates ;D I already had the Staff Proxy setup anyway as I knew it'd most likely be the only method, but curiosity to ask never hurts! Hello all, This may seem like I'm going 'full r3t4rd man.. never go full r3t4rd' < 1337 speak never gets old, but back to the topic. I've been asked if YouTube can be unblocked for specific staff members as well as for a specific PC. They're adamant that logging in with the staff proxy (SWGfL) isn't feasable and would like it to be automatic. Can anybody shed some light if it'd be at all possible to unfilter YouTube without the need for authentication, but only for specific users? I know full well the whole point of the staff proxy and I'm not agreeing with what I'm asking here but I'm doing it out of curiousity, can't really be bothered with grumpy SMT this week! Cheers.

That sounds good then. I just watched a quick video demonstrating it and the controls don't seem as bad as I thought they would be, previous games I've tried ported to a touch-screen device have poor controls! Driving certainly doesn't seem that difficult, though it'd still be something I'd slowly pick-up. I expect they'll just follow the same path with porting it as they did with GTA 3, there wasn't that much difference. The big one would be if they decided to do GTA SA, I expect. I can see GTA 1 & 2 following it as well. I'd LOVE to see GTA: London 1969 again, on any device.. I used to love playing that on the PS1 then you can have your iPad background with Rodney Morash's artwork. "Don't mess sunshine, or I'll kick yer bl00dy head in. Understood, ponce?"

You've finally given me a reason to support iPads being in schools.. thank you. For educational purposes, of course.. "Kids, this is how you should NOT behave in society!... now let's kill some Italian barstewards." or "Of course we can deploy these iPads, Headteacher. We just need to do some extensive testing first. Graphics performance and all that.." Unfortunately I can't afford to buy myself an iPad, so that'll have to wait is the performance any good on the game, do you get many issues? And yeah, I can see how some games like FIFA and GRID will need a controller for some. I've just become so accustomed to using the keyboard+mouse for everything I haven't bothered trying. It'd be hilarious to see somebody try and use a keyboard+mouse on an Xbox 360, though. ULTIMATE MINDTWIST!

Using a console controller for a PC game has always baffled me. I fail to see the point unless you've got some emulating going on. Some people find it easier to fly planes and stuff using a controller/gamepad, but I'd rather stick with me trusty keyboard + mouse all the way! @DMcGuigan - those screenshots look amazing! Thanks for sharing the link with us. Pleased to see how the 'outskirts' look interesting to see the Dam there though, I remember that being between San Fierro & Las Venturas.

Oh, they confirmed the multiple-protagonist rumour? I missed that one! Agreed, that's something I was always a bit 'unsure' of when I heard about it. It may prove to be more involving and fun than it sounds though. A bit like how GTA IV and EFLC 'tied in' with eachother? I'd still prefer to stick with one character, but if there aren't any customisation options available multiple protagonists might make a nice change from time to time. I'd prefer it if it switched protagonists by itself/as you progress, rather than you being able to just press a button and change. Could be a bit weird.. Or it might be an advance to GTA SA's 'Gang Recruit' feature it had, you can have 2 followers and switch between them? *shrug*

Thanks for reminding me about this Mako, completely forgot it was being developed! My taste of excitement for this has returned, I think it's safe to say we've all been waiting for something like this for a long time for Elder Scrolls. On a slighty off-topic note, I'd love to see something like this for newer-Fallout. Do you reckon they'd consider it if this turns out to be a success?
