  1. We got them working! We have Dell WYSE C10Le terminals and like most couldn't get them to be seen, after discussions with Microbit we thought it might be down to the fact they present as FAT12 devices as there is a Known issue with C10Les and NTFS Drives. Over the summer we upgraded the Firmware on the C10Les to v8.1_027 and they now work.
  2. We have been having problems connecting top our Dell Wyse C10Le terminals, we updated the firmware in the terminals and that appeared to solve the problem.
  3. I'm going
  4. I'll be there.
  5. Tameside LEA use them for their SIMS Support, John Howarth is very good.
  6. We are coming to the end of our first year with Schools ICT Support, we couldn't recommend them more, excellent service for an amazingly low price in comparison the the LEA Support (which has a couple of people in the office to take the calls whilst the actually support is done by a 3rd part company). Our Business Manager has told her the other BM's in the Authority about them she's that happy with the level of service. The only thing to bear in mind is that you will need to buy your licences direct from Capita as the LEA will insist that you use their support if you wish to use their discounted licences. It might be worth talking to Capita to get a quote for the Licences, they will try to sell you their support, you might be surprised at how much could be saved.
  7. Exchange/Server Configuration/Hub Transport
  8. We set the Receive Connector to accept all IPs in our domain as we have several pcs that an fms order can be raised on. But once it was setup we've not had a problem.
  9. We have recently had a big problem similar to this, but the solution was very simple in the end using Group Policy Preferences, remove all other attempts to associate xml to any programs and add this one to Computer Configuration\Preferences\Control Panel Settings\Folder options and set the Associated Class to XML Document for file extension xml.
  10. It caused us some problems, they changed the system on the Wednesday, the website was down most of the weekend and we went live on the Monday. Myself and the Business Manager made over 50 calls to parents talking them through how to allocate cash! Things are now settling down.
  11. I'll be there, always very informative and have made some good contacts through them.
  12. We swapped in the last year from a Sophos WS1100 Web Appliance to A Smoothwall S8, as it matched our requirements far better than the existing one, we ended up shortlisting Bloxx and Smoothwall as they both scan the page content and don't rely totally on site categorisation. But I would suggest you speak to each of the companies as they are very helpful and can come up with some very good deals when competing against each other.
  13. Like others, we had TLC, only 2 members of staff ever produced content for it, and although their content was supposed to change every month, the odd item may have changed but the bulk didn't, the pupils got fed up of seeing the same videos over and over again. My colleague is currently trying to set up Xibo on the existing kit, but we wish we could afford an eStream Media Server as it would appear to do the lot including Digital Signage.
