More or less, yeah. Average game is about fifteen minutes (assuming you don't get yourself any winner winner chicken dinner), but if your entire squad dies you get to leave and re-queue. (Of course, you can leave earlier, but I don't think you get points if you leave early) The playable area shrinks every five* minutes, until it's a tiny little zone. If you're outside the playable area you take gradual damage until you're back inside, or you die. The damage starts off quite weak but progressively gets more and more as the game goes on. So basically over time it forces everybody into the same poxy little area and forces you to fight. Turtling stops being a thing after about 6-8 minutes. * There's about two minutes of 'the zone is actively shrinking' and about three minutes of 'the zone will shrink in..' time

I find Discord works well as a voice client, but it tries to 'do too much'. It combines a voice client like Teamspeak or Mumble with chat/image/etc capabilities of Slack and a friends/contact list of Skype, most of which I don't need usually. And the fact that all your servers are listed, and you'll show as online to all of them, personally bothers me. I don't like that. I want to just connect to 1 server and be online on 1 server, I don't see the need for people on other servers that I'm not paying attention to being able to contact me. That being said, Discord's chat bit is reasonably useful if somebody wants to post up, say, "PUBG later? I'll be on from about 6." and then other people see it if they fire up Discord later on in the day. I think Discord is much more focussed around 'building a community' than it is 'being a VOIP client'. I dunno, maybe I'm old fashioned, but what's so bad about using a forum?

Starting to think we need an EduGeek Discord server for stuff like this. I know we have a TS, and I know I've badmouthed Discord in the past, but I'm slowly coming around to the idea that it can be useful in a planning/organisation way. (Still think the UI could do with some work, though..)

I find it's considerably more fun to play with friends. But that's what EduGeek is for! It's you and 99 others, but those 99 others may or may not be in teams. I've been in games where my ending score was out of 30, which means the majority of people were in 3-or-4-stacks. I think they've added some kind of matchmaking/balancing now (as it used to always be a score out of around 70) that puts teams against teams and solo's against solo's. Your choices are: Solo - Just you Duo - You and one other nerd Squad - You and two other nerds, +1 randomly assigned randomer* Squad - You and two other nerds, no randomer assigned* Squad - You and three other nerds** * You can turn off whether you get a random dood or not. ** Nerds is not meant to be an insult, it just seems to be what me and my friends refer to other players as.. "Nerd spotted, 230, just gone behind the big building!" etc

Got a duplicate item in DOTA 2, sold it for £18, used the proceeds to buy a Steam Link. Sale has been less than amazing this year, becoming a running theme now.

OneNote is about 80% of the reason I started looking at G Suite. 1) Classroom is sooooo much better, and 2) You can't transfer class notebooks, so it basically means long-term supply can't use it (as the work can't be passed back to the teacher on their return)

This. Yes, we use Microsoft Windows. Yes, we use Microsoft Office 2016. Yes, we use Microsoft Office 365. You could probably describe the school's infrastructure fairly well by off-handedly saying "It's all Microsoft." But I'm still prepping G Suite for Education, 'cause it's looking like it's considerably better. Microsoft have gotten themselves into a nice position.. We pay Volume Licensing, so we get Office and 365 all bundled in with it. So since we've (kinda) paid for it, we might as well use it. But I don't like the idea of entrenching an organisation into your system as standard. I don't want to be a Microsoft school, an RM school, a Google school. Let us just be a school. We use what tools are useful to us.

And if you are unfortunate enough to come off your bike at speed, apparently Japan has a roaring trade in ruined leathers, so you might be able to earn a few quid back too

@abillybob, you seem to be confusing "a part of the blame" with "all of the blame" It takes two+ to have an accident (usually), and whilst legally speaking the blame usually lies with a single party, there is still a point to be made that most of the time a collision that "wasn't my fault" still involved a person putting themselves in a position where an accident had a greater potential to happen. A lot of the time good road sense would have dictated you not be in that position in the first place.

I actually really like Bill. She's just 'a normal person', which is great. We've had tonnes of companions who because assertive, confident Doctor-Lites (Rory even shouted at the Doctor for it!). Look at Rose, Donna, Martha, Clara.. and then Bill has just been.. Normal. It's been refreshing.

They did that with what's-his/her-face when they killed/didn't kill Clara. I reckon it would have been better to have played it casual that way, but without the cross-gender-regeneration thing, it would've been a bit more difficult to bring the Master back in.

Getting pretty bored with Missy now, it has to be said. I'm just not really engaged in her character/story arc.

Me three. There's only one image in WDS: Win10 Ent LTSB 2016 x64 Drivers are loaded into WDS, and there's a few mandatory application installed tacked into the deployment sequence, but WDS pushes the image and drivers, then reboots and Windows does the rest. It was a bit of a pain to set up but I feel it's much better than sysprepping machines per flavour. We've got 9 different types of machines here, I can't be fussed having 9 different images. More than happy to answer any questions if you wanna fire some my way @Nausing. Drop me a PM any time.

Viscera Cleanup Detail is one of those fantastic, silly, "Everyone grab a beer and let's just have fun" types of games. I highly recommend it if you can find people to play it with. (There are occasionally issues with hosting/joining friends games, but that's nothing Hamachi can't solve.)

Definitely didn't work. Foxit Support finally got back to me and advised I do away with the Browser plugin. So I created a new MST with 'Set as the default PDF viewer' and 'Disable Auto Update' ticked; and 'Show PDF files in browsers.' and 'Install as the default system printer' unticked.. I also set 'Browser Plug-in' and 'ConnectedPDF' to 'Entire feature will be unavailable' in the Features menu. I'm no longer getting the UAC prompt from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader\Foxit Reader.exe" -register Yay! I'm getting it from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader\Foxit Reader.exe" -displayinbrowserregister instead

Picked up Gang Beasts and Broforce to add to my 'couch multiplayer' games, but aside from that, I'm not really taken by much.

The current shortcut file only points to the .exe.. -register is definitely not part of the path. I've checked and double-checked that one. At this point, I'll try anything though. I'll give it a bash on Monday (and feel like a right pillock if it works!)
