Are we talking D'Vana or Beckett? D'Vana doesn't really change all that much, but she's adorable, so it's fine. Beckett doesn't change all that much, either, but you get a better feel for her and her past, and it makes her less of a "break rulz cuz reasons lolz" and more of a well-rounded character with actual motivations, experience and flaws.

Our current Privacy Policy states: but then goes into no further detail about what we share with outside agencies, who they are, or why. There's a section below for 13+ explaining about passing info off to the LA and youth support services (but not mentioning specific services by name), 14+ qualifications and 16+ stuff, as well as what information we give to the DfE and linking the relevant laws and regulations. Am I wrong in thinking we should be a bit more explicit about who we ship off pupil data to for digital services? We have G Suite accounts for everybody, they want YouTube switched on (which G Suite alerts me has extra Ts&Cs to consider), and we have several outside organisations synchronising with SIMS via Wonde (Library stuff, maths websites, school vouchers..) Does all this come under 'it's okay because we're doing it to provide an education'? Am I just being too paranoid and transparency-focussed? Edit: It looks like they've just copied the pupil privacy policy verbatim from this gov.uk page and added a bit or two in.

Started, and finished, Lower Decks on Prime Video. Very much enjoyed it. Absolutely my type of show.

Anyone got a URL blacklist they can dump for incoming emails? The obvious ones spring to mind, social networks (facebook, snapchat, tiktok etc) and purveyors/aggregators of adult content, but there's bound to be tonnes I'd miss. I know it's a game of whack-a-mole but currently it's entirely unrestricted for pupils and that's not exactly the best...

I've had this discussion with my management today. As far as we're concerned, every laptop we received from the DfE was allocated to a child. The concept of a "spare" doesn't exist. To hand a pupil a 2nd laptop is to deprive another of what they are entitled to. The child was entitled to a device, and that is what we provided. Therefore, we shan't be doing it. What I actually translate from that is the parent will whinge at SLT until they finally relent, but that's not my problem and it's SLT that are going to deal with it.

Into the Spider-Verse and How to Train your Dragon are both family-friendly films on Netflix. They do both contain short death scenes, though, so whether that's appropriate for your 4 your old is your call. (Cut to little Gara watching The Lion King when I was younger.. RIP Mufasa!) Edit: If you want something a bit more playful, I'm pretty sure the first Despicable Me is on Netflix, too, which is sans death scenes..

We've had one or two, my process is: Remove known networks From the Start Menu, access the Settings menu, select Network & Internet, then WiFi, and finally Manage Known Networks. Delete all networks. Browser properties & history Internet Explorer Execute inetcpl.cpl from a Run prompt, navigate to the Advanced tab, select Reset… and tick Delete personal settings, then click Reset. Google Chrome Open Chrome and access the settings menu from the three dots in the upper-right-hand corner, then select Settings. Select Privacy and Security and then Clear browsing data. From this new menu, select the Advanced tab, change Time range to All time, tick every category, and select Clear data. Expand Advanced from the left hand menu and select Reset and clean up. Select Restore settings to their original defaults, then click Reset settings. If the user has signed in to Chrome (as indicated by the user icon next to the Settings menu), click the user icon, then click the cog icon next opposite Other people. Hover the mouse pointer over any and all accounts and select the three dots in the upper right hand corner, then Remove this person. Microsoft Edge Chances are the pupil won’t have used Edge*. Skip this section if Edge displays a first-run prompt upon launch. Navigate to the settings menu via the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner and select Settings. Select Profiles from the left-hand menu, and click the 3 dots next to any and all profiles, then Remove. Navigate back to the Settings menu and select Reset settings from the left-hand menu. Finally, select Restore settings to their default values. Finally, select the Privacy, search and services option from the left-hand menu, then in the Clear browsing data section, click Choose what to clear. If we're talking Enterprise as in Captain Archer, then for once I actually agree with you. Discovery has redeemable features even if I do find the Klingons boring. Enterprise was just.. Boring. I did do the next episode of Discovery last night and I am starting to enjoy it little a bit more. I do wonder how they're going to retcon out the Spore Drive though 'cause that's just OP and isn't this supposed to be pre-Kirk?

DS9 Quark and the numerous subplots with his kid and that other kid annoyed me too much Voyager had a few shark-jumpy moments (Kes' exit, being the prime example) but otherwise was thoroughly enjoyable. And Janeway was a badass.

Pfft. Right now I think I'm at TNG > Voyager > DS9 > Dis > TOS (I seriously can't stand Kirk, fite me) I couldn't tell you what it is specifically about Dis' Klingons, I just don't find them very intimidating, and I think I just can't be bothered reading subtitles at 10pm when I'm in bed

I'm still trying to get into Star Trek: Discovery but it's not really scratching the right itch for me. Watched the episode with the time loop last night, quite enjoyed it, and realised what it is.. It's just that I find the 'new'(? old?) Klingons are just a bit rubbish!

Disregard, apparently the issue was that the settings are applied not Splitting the rule into 2, one Inbound/Internal - Receiving and one Outbound/Internal - Sending has fixed the issue We have a kid who has had some.. er.. questionable correspondence in the past, however since we're in another lockdown they need their google account enabling again. SLT want all of their email to be copied to another account, fair enough, Google should be able to do this. I cannot for the life of me figure why this isn't working. Email from my test user (CalaveraM19) is delivered to my personal account successfully, and replying delivers email from my personal account to my test account, but none of the emails end up in the StudentMonitor@ inbox.

I was lured in with the promise of Bruce Willis on the cover art. Do yourself a favour and don't bother wasting your time on this one.

Absolutely. They're totally locked-down, with basically no software, and only a local user account. I assume they're working on a 'cloud or guh-tuh-fuh-oh' policy, which does make sense.

Now that we're back in lockdown, all our teaching is going to be via G Suite/Google classroom again. We had significant issues last time where kids where saying they couldn't do their work because their work was saved to our local network and not their Google Drive Drive File Sync is the obvious solution, but since kids can't come into the building, they can't log in here and copy their files. So it falls to me. I have stumbled across PSGSuite, which literally has a command for this exact purpose. Hooray! Import-Module PSGSuite ForEach ($User in (Get-ADUser -filter * -properties mail,homedirectory | where {$_.DistinguishedName -imatch "[color="#FF0000"]OU=Your,OU=Org,OU=Units,DC=Domain,DC=Suffix[/color]"})) { Start-GSDrivefileUpload -User $User.mail -Path $User.HomeDirectory -Recurse -Wait } I've spent all morning trying to script this with GAM and I'm no closer to a solution. By messing around with Get-ChildItem -Directory, I can create folder(s) (stripping out most of the chaff with .FullName).Replace) This isn't quite as useful as it first appears, because it can't nest folders (both Folder/Folder2 and Folder\Folder2) create folders named verbatim in the root of their drive, and this also takes forever as it's calling GAM.exe per every folder. Edit: I know GAM can work with csv's so it's possible I could speed this process up by outputting folder structure to a csv and then issuing one GAM command based on that.... Edit2: Yep, that worked, and will presumably work for files too, but that doesn't fix the non-nesting issue. Gotta be honest, I don't think Death to 2020 was as bad as folks are painting it. I quite enjoyed it.
