I'm not sure it's the rows across pages either - I went through and re-designed most of our reports a little over a year ago, and one of the tips I had at the time was to set it so rows couldn't split across pages - I still have it happen. Honestly though, I feel like the many workarounds just add to the excitement of generating reports. Like my other favorite "feature" where the clicks register before the redraw has finished.

You can delete them from the browse detentions screen. I've just done this for everything after January at my school as it's been decided that the modifications that were made are not working (rightly so). I couldn't find a way to bulk delete, so did it manually - which was great fun considering we have 2-4 detention types per day, every day.

SISRA would also be using last years coeffecients and the like to figure it out, as they wouldn't have this year's yet right? Mine was off (in a good way) - but I expected it because my spreadsheet uses the old figures (we don't have SISRA). I just need the data management page to open up so I can put our remarks in and improve things.

Thanks all, I'll check it next week (as I am the admin account) Matt - Not so concerned about the National with VA - but our MFL and Humanities subjects got slammed with poor marks, and will make a significant change to the VA scores not only for those areas, but I suspect will have a small impact on our Overall as well. Capped 8, APS, etc will all go up too - which is very important to my Head as we are waiting on an ofsted re-inspection, and have had the best results ever with our overall VA score

I know this isn't MIS related, but you all deal with RAISE as well, so I'm hoping one of you can give me an answer... I got my unvalidated RAISE yesterday, and while it all looks mostly good, it hasn't taken in any of the grade changes we put through the tables checking exercise, and I don't understand why - will those not go through until we get the validated report? My head, and my curriculum govs would like me to update it so that it does take into account those grade changes, yet I cannot see a way to do so on RAISE online. Is there a way? thanks all

We use nested if else formulas to generate our colors. You can tie it to an aspect if you already have them, otherwise you can use the "formula for review" column type. But basically the formula goes like: If Art Est > Art Tar, then populate the column with Above, and color it green If Art Est = Art Tar, then populate the column with On, and color it yellow If Art Est < Art Tar, then populate the column with Below, and color it red At the bottom of the nested if else formula screen there is an option titled "Also color this column", select that, and then choose your Art Est field to also color - this makes it so when you send the reports home, the aspect keeps its color.

thanks Matt, that's got me a start, but it seems to be showing what they did at sixth form as opposed to their GCSE entry points. should have taken a copy of the Head's doc he had I think.

So last June my Head had a document where he had the last three year's worth of national data for student entries to sixth forms. on it was the GCSE APS on Entry for students that went on to sixth forms. He's asking me for that data now, when I never had it, and he only had it on a piece of paper he showed me. Anyone know where I can find that? Obviously I can pull it for our students, but he's trying to show us compared to the nationals, and no longer has the info himself.

you could use alternative curriculum and set a before school session. setting the register can be fiddly, but we use it for inclusion and a few before school music lessons

I have my own way of avoiding it - but it is an absolute ridiculous process. Design report template. Save it Open it, choose which students I want to generate it for, select them again in the individual report page, edit template. Save template (I actually use the save icon) Save Individual Report in SIMS Immediately export Convert all XML to PDF for review. I haven't had a single issue since I started doing it this way - what amuses me is that it has no issue uploading them to the DMS - you don't have to do anything special there - only to export/print them. I haven't printed them straight from SIMS in over a year and a half though - all PDF, then send that to the printer if I need paper copies.

not phil, but I believe it's part of the mapped aspects functionality that was set up for Primary schools already - I'd like to know as well - especially when it comes to figuring out which aspects it expects to map

the detention sorting changed over a year ago - I want to say it was in the spring/summer 2013 release, as it drives me absolutely nuts because 2 of my staff members are incapable of remembering it reverse sorts now

I don't think you can - the idea of the dynamic groups is that they change, and it's been a while since I had the bit of training on it, but I remember them telling us that essentially if you want to keep a list of the students that are members on any given day, you'd have to export the list on that day.

I've got all my form tutors/co-tutors set up so that we can see incidents on our homepages for our tutor groups, but that doesn't show comments, and if you click on one of the incidents it takes you to the student's teacher view (not very helpful, be more helpful if it took you to the incident). Staff seem to like it though, as they can at least stay on top of what the 3 incidents Joe had today...

I got our logins for it last week, and it doesn't seem as easy to use as FFTLive. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but it does confuse me - why when you change the FFT model (say from the default 50, to the much higher 5) does it give the student a better percentage chance of meeting their target? None of the stuff I actually need at the minute is up either - still can't get my new Y9s targets, and everything is still set to last year essentially.

I met with a salesman last spring, and was quite excited about Progresso - sadly I can't get SLT to look at it to even contemplate moving from SIMS - but it was very very nice to play with.

I just did last year's yesterday with my head of sixth. all the advice we had/read stated that the planned hours are for when they were timetabled (so up to Study Leave), as at the census date last year (I want to say it was 3/10). So where a student was on 4 courses October 3rd, but later dropped one, you still count the 4th course, as you planned for them to do it. Same thing with the non-qualified hours - so if you planned for a student to be in a tutor group for 30 minutes a day, but they never went, you still count it.

I have a very hard time believing you are actually a headteacher at a school - although to be fair, I'm not sure what you'd hope to do with the iso for SIMS otherwise.

I know that if you change your registration group names instead of deleting them and creating new ones you can lose a student's attendance (as my EoY documentation mentions a bunch). I'd imagine you'd have a far bigger issue than one student if that was the cause though. Ran through a bunch of my leavers, and they all look right.

Gotcha. well I post detention lists, so I run the same report at 2PM, and then open schoolcomms and send the messages from within schoolcomms. I think the "send" button in SIMS detention screen works with whatever Capita's bolt-on messaging service is called, we looked at it, but it was way too cost prohibitive

using schoolcomms? I send emails/texts (email is free, texts cost, so email first always) on the day of detention (2PM, for 3:20 Dets) I have a template that is basically: has a today for . Failure to attend would lead to an SLT detention. Any questions contact . Seems to work for most of our parents
