Reports - Lesson Monitor - Selected Students Reports - Minutes Late Report

I had a foreign student - she was home schooled in Texas (as an American that makes me cringe a bit) - she's quite smart though. We have her sitting Maths and English GCSEs this November, Marked both as not yet attained, had no issue.

Have me at a loss mate - I've just done it again, and the only way I get the reg groups to populate when I have Whole School as the group type, is when I don't hit search to clear the reg groups and bring up the whole school. As for Phil's suggestion of using discover, it would work, but it wouldn't be a nice little report that would print out, you'd have to do some data entry into excel or something.

@dhol91 - I can't re-create your issue - when I run it it gives me the whole school, not broken down by reg groups - are you sure the bottom part of the screen is showing Whole School Selected under description? If not, you're missing out the part where you hit search after you change the group type.

you have to change it to whole school, pick your STAR field, then hit search again - then it will give you "Whole School Selected" in the description field below.

are you using group analysis by STAR field? the group type is at the top, defaults to reg group, but you can change it to whole school

We use go4schools, which is nice in some instances, but as courses are tied to exams, and the new 0-9 exams haven't been set up yet, I've had to tie them to the old GCSE exams, and give them letter grades. I'm hoping by the time the year 9s choose/start their options (Jan/May) the exams have QAN codes I can attach to the courses, and the students can get actual number targets. I've tried suggesting to staff to use my sheet to report targets to students, but I doubt any will (at least the kids I mentor will know)

You want to use the behaviour incidents to get who set the detention. I made one a few years ago to give students an idea of who to go talk to about their detentions, I didn't track their attendance there (I had another report do that), and I filtered on the detention date as well as detention type.

I tried editing the XML by removing the offending code, but then got the same error as @03038372 DfE finally replied to me today, stating they have passed it on...so maybe I'll have an answer by Friday.

So I'm trying to get my QAN codes up-to-date, but when I try pulling them in I get an error on the Awarding Bodies one - duplicate primary keys. The QAN website says this was an issue on Thursday, but the new files should be fine. I've just downloaded the new files, and they are not fine. Anyone (someone must) have a fix? I need to get my new courses on to tie sixth form students to to finish my census. tom

I had a notice saying not to add any of my new students till last week, as they hadn't rolled the years up yet. Are your 5s now in year 6?

Man, glad I just read this - I've been busting ass trying to get the info needed. it is ridiculous for me to be doing this though - it's such an admin task - I got all the QAN codes, but surely there should be a way to make this easier.

mine kept failing because one of the lower schools very helpfully put a students name as "Fullname (preferred)" the brackets were apparently ruining the CTF file. thankfully it only took me about 15 students before I found the offending one.

Not the same thing - but when I went to apply to be a governor at my kids' school, I had the same concern - my Head saw no problem with it - and indeed would like me at the governor meetings for our school, but the other school's head said it would be a conflict of interest for me to sit in their meetings while working on data at my school. I withdrew my application then.

Yeah, mine go against the Group, as I found trying to filter afterwards made it run really slow

I currently have it in my monster spreadsheet of House data - I just add them to the houses there, as students' HP goes toward rewards, we couldn't do it fairly any other way

What are you trying to accomplish? I have a report that pulls parent contact details out for a UDG, I just have to enter the shortcode. Are you just looking for a report showing all your UDGs?

Anyone have a system set up for tracking detentions in G4S? I've got a really basic system, but it doesn't really work as it just simply counts how many detentions a student has had, how many they've attended (I've made incidents for both attending and not attending, that's how I have teacher's doing registers). It doesn't give me all the info I want though - I'd like to know what they are in for, who put them there, and when it happened. it all comes out in the exports - I just haven't sat down and spent tons of time on it. and now I'm hoping someone here has, and is willing to share what they use, so that I can work from something.

presumably the android OS was up-to-date yes? My wife's old Note 2 wasn't, and it bricked itself, it was quite a well known error, and Samsung fixed it in one of their updates (well, not really, they just stopped the phone writing to that part of memory, I believe). Could just be the battery is old and shot - the Note 2 is a good 2 years old, my kids have my wife and I's old ones, and they barely last a few hours at this point. I played with a gal at work's Alpha, it seems decent enough. I believe the top £200 phone would be the Moto G, it's almost universally raved about.

It would really depend on how you use your marksheets - are teachers expected to enter data regularly, or is it for them to just update estimated grades and see things like residuals? Really, you should probably sit down with your head of maths and ask them what they want. for your 1-9 residuals, it'd be the same thing you're currently doing, but instead of dividing by 6, you can leave that step out. Personally, we used to use Group Analyses to see residuals, as it allows for a quicker view - I had the formula on the marksheets, but typically our HoDs preferred the Group Analyses. We also track how many grades they are above/below - while it's good to know a student isn't performing to target, it's even better to know that they are 2 or even 3 grades under target.

that was a conversation I had to have, if we gave all our students expected progress targets, we would fail as a school. Most of our students have BEP targets, with only some, in specific classes, having EP targets. Still not sure it's the way to go, but I'm not in charge of those decisions!

I signed up for the non-mentoring version a couple years back - sadly I got no support from SLT, and never got any of the requirements satisfied (to my liking) to actually submit it. to be fair, I'm fairly certain I could have bs'd my way through the entirety of it, and achieved it, but I don't roll that way.

You can get them from K2S, but you have to tick a box that says the students are on roll currently.
