Where do I find this setting? Is it in papercut or the registry?
-
Yes, all staff and students have an email address in paper cut.

When some students and some staff send their print jobs to the virtual queues and then they go to the printer to release their work, the printer shows no jobs to release. Any ideas? This has recently started to happen to a few students and staff. Nothing has been changed software wise so no idea why this should be happening.

There is one classroom where this connection box is no longer working. There is no power going into connection box. I have checked the following: power switch on right handside is set to on replaced fuse - still no power There is no blue light or orange light status light Any ideas. I can't get anything to display on the projector because all connections go through this box. This connection box was working fine on Friday.

Replacement APC batteries delivered today and I installed them and they work. Problem resolved. I'm surprised that the original APC batteries that were sent were duds especially since the amount of money the school is paying for them.

Contacting Millgate now...

I don't think the APC Units are faulty because the batteries that I borrowed from another APC unit work fine. It's just the APC units don't work with the new batteries.
-
So I have tried the new batteries in another APC Unit and the same thing is happening. The apc unit is beeping and the red light next to replace battery symbol is still red and blinking. Could the batteries be faulty?

We have 4 APC unit's in the school and the APC unit that went down powers 1 data cabinet. I did some rejigging and "borrowed" the batteries from another APC unit to power the APC unit that died as a temporary fix until new batteries were ordered. So I just installed the new batteries in the "borrowed" APC unit. I would expect the new batteries to just work in any APC unit, since they are all the same. I will have to resolve this during the half term holidays now because these APC units don't power on unless there is a battery in them.

I did the above. The audible beeping has stopped and the red light next to replace battery symbol is still red and blinking.

We purchased a replacement battery for the APC Smart-UPS RT 5000VA 230V and the battery is not charging. I double-checked the connectors and left the UPS on over night and the replace battery light is still blinking and an audible beep is emitted by the unit. The unit thinks the batteries need replacing even though they are brand new. Can anyone help?

We have some students who are receiving spam emails that are being sent from other student accounts. Does this mean that the students account has been hacked or spammers are sending emails with the email address of these students? If anyone can clarify this for me then that would be great.

I concur. Don't go to hosted SIMS. So many problems I don't even know where to begin.

I passed this request to the our social media marketing person as I thought they would have more expertise with this. I was then told by the Head to deal with it as I'm in charge of IT.
-
The Head wants me to remove the Google Reviews that disgruntled current students/former students are leaving. Does anybody have any ideas on how I should proceed with this?

Yes, all APs have the same channel and power settings. There is no automatic option for setting the channel and no automatic option for setting the power.
-
Thanks for your suggestions. I will look into it after the Christmas break.

Yes, all APs have been set to use channel 6 for RF band 802.11bgn and channel 36 for RF band 802.11ac. I also have a map of the AP locations. I'm not sure about the support contract as I'm still looking through the documentation.

I have inherited a Meru Wireless network with 50 APs. The AP settings for all 50 Aps have been set as shown in the attachments and these settings have been the same since the school opened in 2015. The Meru wireless controller settings look very complicated and not as user friendly as the ruckus wireless controller that I am used to. I am hoping that someone will be able to help me to increase the throughput of the APs or at least check the settings to see if they are ok.

I can't imagine how many superheroes Stan Lee created or co-created. God bless him for creating Spiderman though. He will be missed!

I've inherited a new network and I would like to know what the storConnector software is and what the storConnector software does? I also keep on getting the attached error message on some devices (laptops or desktops). Any help would be appreciated.

I just found out that my school has appointed the Office Manager as the DPO. I'm pretty sure this is a conflict on interest.

What would be the downside of keeping the current Admin (running Windows Server 2008 and is 7 years old) and Curriculum Server (running Windows Server 2008 R2 and is 6 years old) apart from Microsoft not supporting Windows Server 2008 after Jan 2020 and not getting any security updates etc..? The School is desperate to save money and I feel the cost to upgrade both will hit the school hard and redundancies may come sooner rather than later.

This is what I am doing. 1) Going to Settings-->Accounts-->Add another email address. 2) enter in email address, [email protected] 3) Treat as an alias box ticked. click next step. 4) SMTP settings: smtp.gmail.com entered gmail username entered gmail password This is does work for any port (587 or 465). I then found this on youtube, and followed this. However the verification email is not received. -
