    @ Geoff I've hunted around for the release date but looks like microsoft are keeping that to them selfs. I think its going to be jan 2008. Some people seem to think it was leaked last year.

    looks like there is a few updates there to bring xp in line ready for server 2008.

    you could always set the computers to shutdown/restart at daft o'clock then the profiles are cleared for next day. Glad it worked for you may i ask why the computers are left on almost 24/7? seems a like waste of energy/money :|

    Here is a script that runs on machine startup that clears the profiles. I would like to take credit for it but cant this is one of Bossman's scriptsprofiles_cleanup_script.vbs exclude.txt

    I wouldn't go with b or g. to much interference. for good wireless coverage i managed to grab me self a scaled drawing of the school and worked out the best place to install the AP on the wall. Fingers and toes all crossed i've never been called to go sort out a problem with them.

    can you not host the website in the school on a sep server, have web address point to it. that way you save money on hosting, pluss you can tie it in to with ldap?

    Ive setup 3 wireless areas with 3com on 11a. each area has 3 wireless ap, each supporting 10 laptops max. at the moment we only have on laptop trolley housing 30 laptops.

    why dont you go for carpet tiles, that way when you spill coffee all over the server and floor you can at least lift the tile to wash I would lay carpet, and have the server rack mounted. need any tips on what colour to paint the wall?

    547 Kids 118 laptops (30 of them are networked) 356 networked computers 1 stand alone machine 37 whiteboards 5 servers 1 technician - Me Full time / term time only (looking for new job) 1 NM - full time / term time only although he works from home alot, so its usually me that supports the school

    worst thing is j17sparky is works 2 mile away from me and does the same job yet i've been graded a G £18,5** a year. Puzzles me how that works

    lucky for us the ht is sound, in fact i was described him as a rare breed of boss. he pays really good overtime when ever work is done for him/school out of contracted hours
