Just about to look at this again. It seems the certificate we got issued for our partner primary did not contain the correct information (our fault, our certificate request was wrong), so I'm waiting for the new one to come back. Looking at things again. I don't think you should need to include the ipsCA GLOBAL CA ROOT certificate because that one should be in devices anyway (as long as they are all kept reasonably up-to-date). It might just be that you need to create a cert with the level 1 certificate, and your certificate. I hope to remote into the school this afternoon and attempt to sort out the controller. If I get it working, I will let you know.

Don't all parents who have parental permission automatically get accounts? It doesn't actually matter on the priority set as far as I'm aware. We often send out individual logins for mum and dad.

Put your exceptions in first... then add your proxy server. Thats how I have got round that issue.

If it's anything like my galaxy tab (android 3.2 so it should be the same) you can put the proxy details in when you originally connect to the wifi too.

This isn't a technical issue. Or at least there isn't a simple technical solution. Your parents need to talk to her. They need to explain why they feel it is unsuitable, how people involved in this type of content can be abused etc. Ask her why she is interested at looking at this stuff / is their anything in particular she is curious about... Your parents might consider moving the computer to a shared area of the house which is a really easy non technical quick win, but with mobiles and other hand held devices (hers or a friends) they are fighting a losing battle. Education and open discussion is key here I think.

Ok some progress! Although my config doesn't require a proxy arp? I've just re read my last post and it doesn't read very well.. Let me try again. Your clients on your 136 VLAN are sending out a DHCP request. Your switch sees the request and routes it on to your DHCP server using the ip-helper information. Your DHCP server receives the request and attempts to service it. However the request came from a subnet it doesn't know about. So it can't service the request. The client therefore never receives a DHCP response. If however you create a suitable DHCP scope on your DHCP server, it will be able to service the request because it is aware of the subnet from where the request first came.

Ok, have you set up different scopes in your DHCP server? From what I have read, your old scope (within VLAN100) is working perfectly, except for internet access, correct? What is your current DHCP server giving out as the clients default gateway? It should be 10.120.140.1 so your VLAN 100 clients contact the switch, then your switch (using the default gateway address) should route the traffic to your RBC router. Then you need to create a second scope on your dhcp server. Lets say, 10.120.136.5 - 10.120.136.250 for arguments sake. It is the scope your DHCP will use to service requests from the 10.120.136.0 (VLAN 136) clients. Does that make sense?

On what ports are your new router (gateway) and your DHCP server connected to? Do you know the config of your router?

me? No. I probably should have said that the majority of the gear we replaced was procurve life time warranty stuff so it was replaced FOC when it failed (and we had some spares hanging around). The only other couple of failures in the past were cheap things put in before my time that only serviced a few devices. It's all PC lifetime warranty now, and we have boat loads of the old bits to call on if we needed to.

Absolutely. It was more the thought that relying more and more on one service provider, the more chance I have of losing everything. Not because google is going anywhere (although they do have a habit of dropping services that are under used) but more because it may only take one silly statement on google+ for example, to have my account shut down, and lose all of the services I've come to rely on.

I trust you read my post which says it does allow for non document type storage? It is right that you point out that GD has unlimited space for google docs but sadly not office docs, openoffice docs etc. Me too, looking forward to seeing the product. I really will be running out of things that google can not do for me! No need for anyone to suggest eggs, and baskets though...

Google docs does have the ability to hold non document type files. I took it to mean more space (docs only has one gig on normal google accounts) and possibly automatic folder sync like dropbox & sugarsync etc.
