@northeast_technician Have you another new disk to replace it with? You should just be able to pull the failed drive and replace it live with the new one and it should rebuild from the other drives if you only have one drive failure, if 2 drives have degraded (Failed) then it is another matter and you will probably have to start from scratch and repair from backups. We only have 3 members of Staff who have been on the CCTV course and gained certification and these members of Staff and no-one else have access to the CCTV footage, there is an access control log which is recorded by the software and also manually recorded in a written log. I think students parents are invited in to watch footage and if there are any other children involved in the footage this is covered by our school viewing policy of Photographs and video content which is signed by the parents when the student starts at the school, this information is held in the Sims. Only the police are given footage on a secure pendrive for their perusal which is documented and given back to us when they have finished with it. Our Data Protection Officer handles all outside requests.

@SwedishChef There is an access log under Focus>System Manager>User Access Log I haven't used it for ages but it is there still, don't even know if it functions now, give it a whirl Scratch that! just been on and it just gives access times to the Sims from that particular workstation, sorry, Trying the other way from inside the system manager but it just seems to hang! @Garacesh I now use PDQ Deploy to deploy small bits of software that comes as exe's and also copy files to certain destinations across the network, I use it with the Inventory part as well and for the cost of approx £700 for the two its worth its weight in Gold. We have one licensed enterprise version and with this you also have access to ready made update deployments of all runtime engines and media players etc etc, You can get a free version to use for as long as you want only exception is that you can only deploy 3 of the ready made application deployments, Have a look its well worth it!

@cpjitservices I think if I remember? It was mainstay routers which were badly affected as well as enterprise switches but as you say they had a patch out immediately but that doesn't detract the severity of the software fault, Hope you are well my good friend

@mlunn82 We have Hyper-V cluster using 2 x RS3614xs+ which are setup as failover with active heartbeat as the storage units, they have a mixture of SSDs (For superfast caching) and SATA drives (For 24TB storage) these are coupled to 2 x Dell R710's with 196GB RAM in each as the Hyper-V hosts using 2 x GB unmanaged switches for failover. @Steve21 @cpjitservices Juniper are good although there has been some code irregularities regarding patching which has left some devices open to external intrusions, although Meraki have been bought out by Cisco the pricing is very good for the level of equipment actually cheaper than Cisco switches, the software is excellent for the Meraki switches too Just looking atm and gathering costs for feasibility report,

Our Maths department still use them albeit on special occasions and are very reluctant to get rid, when bought they got 5 sets at £2k a set (Wow!!) not my decision btw, the cases are very good and I will keep them. I Vote get rid

Staff here have access to Youtube but nothing else as school policy backed by SLT states, Students have access to one game site which the staff can classroom manage with software to filter access to that particular game site as its all about classroom management here. I have setup Skype under a protected account which is disabled after use. We do have department twitter accounts which the Staff have setup (I will take no flack for their misuse but have given instructions before they set them up) SLT have verified these accounts but will not sanction their use in school. That's all I have to say about that! Happy Friday everyone
